This is truly an exceptional hotel. From the stunning, elegant, minimalistic architecture to the luxurious, spacious brand new rooms, this is the perfect choice for a memorable stay. Coming here feels like venturing into a hidden oasis of beauty, peace and serenity. Having stayed here for 3 months in total this year (and 4 months last year) I can highly recommend this hotel for a long and peaceful retreat. During my stay I have seen how the staff of this hotel functions like a harmonious family. When I see a working environment such as this it is certainly due to good management. It creates a harmonious and friendly atmosphere which beautifully compliments the peacefully simplistic yet luxurious decor and architecture. In particular I want to thank Shantanu Ranjan Pal, the general manager of this hotel. He made sure my stay was perfect and if ever I had any issues he resolved them immediately, without delay. He is certainly a most excellent manager. Other managers Amit and also front desk manager Nitish were also very helpful, kind and polite. On reception Jyoti, Mainak, Shabaz, Ishani and notably Shilu were excellent. In the restaurant a special mention to Sovan, Lakshmi and Jaymesh who always made sure my breakfast requests were already prepared for me even before I entered the restaurant, and placed on my table of choice. It is rare to find such thoughtful and kind restaurant staff. Also Rahul and Nitish at the restaurant deserve a mention as well as the chef for their excellent service. Rahul at the gift shop is a kind and good person and Preeti and Primela are very good housekeepers. All the new housekeepers are also excellent. All do a complete job of cleaning the rooms. There are many staff whose names I did not know or have forgotten to mention who also assisted me with excellent customer service. Thank you to all. On my final day a delicious chocolate cake with ‘thank you’ written on it and candles all around the table was prepared for me.

A continuation of my previous review: On my final day a delicious chocolate cake with ‘thank you’ written on it and candles all around the table was prepared for me. Such a wonderful and thoughtful parting gift from the hotel. Finally, as a female solo traveler I am grateful for the respectful and polite staff who made it easy for me to keep to myself and peacefully enjoy my solitary, quiet retreat. I very much look forward to my next long stay at your beautiful hotel, in my favourite room, next year. Thank you to all. I am very grateful.

Very Big property, hence very calm. 3 kms away from Mahabodhi temple. Easy to walk from Hotel to Temple. Takes 40 mins. This property is inside a village, so little surprise while crossing a entrance of village and reach here. Check-in process was very good. I was 1.5 hours early, and they checked me in right away without any comments. Room size is considerably bigger . I love the high ceiling rooms. Garden view glass window, and a small glass window is a plus. Bathroom is good. Water tub, shower. Shower gels etc., all good. Few additional pluses for 1. Providing re-fillable water bottle to avoid plastics. 2. High roof ceilings. 3. Buddhism based property design. There is a good restaurant inside the property. Restaurant menu includes multi cuisine. Dishes are well made. Swimming pool is very spacious, calm and plenty of space around it.
First entry to the hotel crossing the village. But, later few times it doesnt matter. They can consider maintaining Swimming pool water temperature according to outer weather.

Stay at Marasa Sarovar, Bodh Gaya—The approach road to the property is not very appealing, but when we enter its a different vibe, the lobby area has the five wisdoms of Buddha on the wall and a big gong in the centre, we struck it slowly to experience the sound of calmness within us, the property has 60 percent greenery and 40 percent water bodies which gives a sense of serenity and tranquility, the colour palette of the entire hotel is nestled only in white, beige, terracotta and gold which gives a lot of charm and warmth, the rooms are great, linens are very clean and every room either faces a water bed or the organic garden, the vegetables of which can be chosen for a meal, the swimming pool is very clean, the water was still warm at 8.30 pm when we went for a dip, the property has a Spa, fitness centre and other amenities, the dining area is spacious and their multi cuisines offers some good delicacies, we enjoyed their mutton daak bunglow, one of their signature dishes, a preparation from British era, Dak was the term used for a rest house where travellers on a dak route could be accommodated, we also had Champaran meat, a dish which is from a small village in district of Bihar, the meat of which is tender and marinated in a mix of mustard oil and the with ginger, garlic, onions and spices, for desert we had baked Rasgoolas which is frozen and then prepared with Mawa sprinkled on it, their buffet breakfast is a great spread, services are very good, we enjoyed the hospitality and warmth of each and every staff member, it is indeed a nice property and just 3.5 kms from Mahabodhi temple.
The Approach Road, But that's the only thing

+ The staff is very friendly and always courteous + The staff is always approachable and helpful. Once I needed medicine, it was taken care of immediately. Super. + The hotel is in a very quiet location. You have peaceful nights there + The rooms are large and have great facilities + The complex is very beautiful and very clean by Indian standards + The hotel facilities are very good
Neutral: Some of the staff spoke proper English, but some did not Neutral: The WLAN did not work reliably Neutral: The hotel is located in a very poor area. However, you don't notice anything within the complex. Minus: The shuttle price to the airport from the hotel was six to eight times higher than with a normal TukTuk. Not nice

My favorite Hotel after many stays in Bodhgaya (also after staying in the newly opened Hyatt Place). Great spacious grounds with ponds and swimming pool, lovely for a stroll in the evening. Quality furniture and very comfortable light concept. Spacious room size easy to also place two yoga mats for practice. Good bathrooms and showers. Excellent sound proofing for best sleep quality. From the big windows you see the trees (I prefer the rooms at backfront with no pond views). They use glassbottles for the water to be refilled. Aircon was fine and individually controllable. Fair priced rooms. Always buffet for BF and Dinner.
Food was always spicy including the watermelon juice in the morning. Also if you order not spicy it is spicy. The way to the main temple is a challenge as you have to drive the busy main road to Gaya. Cleanliness is and issue in the details for example door, fridgedoor, mirrors, light switches… they were really dirty and I guess never cleaned. You are in Bodhgaya, the staff is not trained as you might expect, this I had to learn. Managers in front office and restaurant seems to be plenty of people and coordination a problem, they are not used on dealing efficient and kind with guests. Normal staff especially house keeping, bell boy and one waitress in the restaurant were lovely.

I stayed at this hotel for just over 4 months in total. Grounds are beautiful and are immaculately maintained. Rooms are well equipped and brand new. I can say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, in India. Housekeepers do a very thorough job cleaning rooms. All housekeepers were excellent, but I want to mention Primela in particular for her good service. In the restaurant I want to give special thanks to Sovan and Lakshmi. They were very attentive to my needs. I am very grateful. I recommend Lakshmi for a promotion to a management position and I see that Sovan has customer service skills that are superior to others in the hotel. Also I want to say Thankyou to Michael for the special gift of dried bodhi leaves from the temple bodhi tree. Front desk, Shabaz and Jyoti are good. When I had a suggestion for improvement a short talk to the general manger saw that my suggestion was immediately implemented, so I want to give special thanks to him (I’m not sure of his name.) Many reviews complain of the poor approach road, and I was hesitant in booking due to these reviews, however when I arrived I found it not too bad at all. It’s a short walk of a few minutes from the hotel to the main road, and from there you can hail a tuktuk to the temple for a cost of around 100-150Rs (or 20-50Rs if it’s a shared tuktuk). I’m sure the hotel can also help arrange transport to the temple, but I never felt the need to ask them. Also this is a safe place for female solo travelers. Staff are respectful and they give you space to keep to yourself without disturbing you. Many thanks to everyone at this hotel for my most pleasant stay. I hope to return again, to my favorite room in your hotel, next year.

Clean, greener, Staff we’re polite
We did not eat any food in room but the restaurant manager charged us for in room dining. We were getting late so couldn’t dispute. The hotel manager took our number and promised to call but that never happened The location is not nice. There is no proper access road. It’s far away from the town so one ends up paying a lot for Taxi. The access road is dirty

Marasa Sarovar is a tranquil property. The access is through a narrow village street so it may feel like you’re not on the right track but as you enter the gates you feel the beautiful ambience take over. It’s very spacious well designed and I loved the pool area.
The buffet was cold and service and overall food variety and quality a bit lacking for the price. While the property is great value for money I can’t say that about the food. Would have liked to taste more local cuisine.

Hotel was clean, with friendly staff and amazing ambience. Restaurant offered a variety for breakfast and was attentive to any special requests. Loved the library.
The hotel location was off the beaten path. It felt a little unsafe outside the hotel premises as it was secluded with a dirt road and slums outside. The lobby restrooms did not have toilet rolls, but the situation was quickly rectified when reception staff was notified.
