We had a very late flight and arrived at 3am, but hotel wee fine with that - overnight staff checked us in. Nice pair of four posters a very welcoming sight. Really well located in the old town in a lovely heritage building. Short walk tot he Mandovi river casinos if that's your thing, or old town shopping also just 5-10 mins walk away. Had a street-side room but no problems with street noise. They hardly mention that there's a plunge pool on the roof, but it's there and free to use and great after a long day. It's not heated but doesn't need to be (November). Major highlight for us was that they agreed to let me into the kitchen to learn how to make a curry (I requested vindaloo). Very accommodating of chef Birju and his team. Naturally, the best vindaloo I've ever eaten! Balcony restaurant is a nice place for sundowner or to eat dinner.

Beautifully furnished heritage hotel in the traditional Portuguese Fontainhas area of Panjim. The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good with a range of continental and Indian options.

The payment arrangements meant that I ended up paying 20 per cent more than the price on my booking. I booked a non-refundable room and was asked to pay the total amount by bank transfer a few weeks beforehand. I did this and paid the UK bank charges, but the Indian bank charges were then also deducted from my full payment meaning that I had more to pay when I arrived. These additional bank charges are not made clear at the time of booking.

Accommodation has historical charm, it invites you into old colonial Portugese home. I had been kindly upgraded and room was clean with wooden classic furniture. The room has all basic facilities. Breakfast was good, of what you expect from b&b. Staff in the property were helpful and polite. Location of this property is good, particularly if you want to explore Latin quarter with lots of cafe and restaurants at walking distance. If you come with understanding that property is old, here to give historical experience then your expectations will be matched.

At night on Saturday there were noisy ladies and I tried to call down to reception to complain but phone didn't work. I found tv had little tuned in channels but reception came to help. I think some wholemeal and healthy options for breakfast would be good for people who need to need low carb and healthier diet. In room security box didn't work, so bit of maintenance check before guests check would be good. Personally found bed hard, for others it might be fine.

Interesting heritage building, quaint furnishings, good breakfast.

Furniture was dusty, bathroom could do with an update. We asked the front desk staff to book us a car to take us to Palolem and was told there was no need as there were always plenty of cabs outside the hotel. We were surprised at this as every other hotel we stayed in in India had been happy to do this for us. Sure enough, when we left there was only one vehicle available, a rust bucket whose driver overcharged us. Not impressed by the lack of customer service.

The Staff were very attentive and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The location of the hotel was good: close enough to walk into the main part of Panjim and about 10minutes walk from the bus station.

My room was next to the Verandah Restaurant. This wasn't a problem at night as the last orders were 9.30pm so it was quiet by 10.30pm. However, it could be a bit noisy in the afternoon if there were groups in the restaurant and one was trying to rest. Mostly it wasn't a problem because I was not there in the afternoon.

The perfect location in Fontainhas and friendly and willing reception staff are the strong points of this hotel.

We gradually got used to the strong smell of mothballs on the ground floor and the dark restaurant interior. Even the eagle eyed owner at the entrance became less intimidating as time went on. However, we missed having proper coffee and were surprised that a hotel at this price point did not have a coffee machine at breakfast, preferring instead to offer guests a jar of Nescafé.

The location of the property is great if you want to explore the old Portuguese architecture. The breakfast was decent, not great. The spread could have been better. The service at the restaurant was very prompt

The pictures about the property seem to mix up the three separate properties owned by the WelcomGroup - the Peoples, Panjim Inn and the Panjim Pausada. It should be made clear at the time of booking which one will be provided.

It had character - that's why I chose it. And I was not disappointed. It was like stepping into the past, but with the necessities of the present (air-conditioning, fridge). Staff enormously helpful - quite exceptional. Breakfast catered for Indian and Western needs.

There was nothing I didn't like. Any tiny faults were a consequence of the building being a historical building. If you choose accommodation of this kind, you have to accept the implications. Nothing disturbed me.

the breakfast was quite sufficiently varied. would have liked some bacon or ham on the menu. liked the fruit - very well served and very tasty. the dosas too were welcome. all the vegetable dishes served were very tasty

the tap in the basin was too small. it was difficult washing hands. also would have liked to have some shower gel

I am glad I picked this hotel for our last day in Goa. Its is right in the center of Panjim and close to all the casino cruise ships, nice restaurants and picturesque roads. If you want to visit old Goa and other tourist places then I recommend this hotel for its convenience and comfortable stay. PS> You should visit Down The Road restaurant for a lovely dinner with live music and good ambience.

The hotel has no lift and poor A/C rooms.
