Booking.com indicated that our room had a bathtub. When we entered the actual room, it was a walk in shower instead. The manager told me there ARE no bathtubs in any of the rooms. But while randomly wandering on my floor, I found an empty room with the door open. I walked in and looked around. Sure enough this room had a gorgeous bathtub. Strange that the manager lied to me though this room was clearly empty!

Great location - at Theog, little outside the crowd of Shimla. Lovely place, views, food. Good gym as well.

No privacy in the spa/gym changing rooms - staff at the desk are able to look straight at you while you change. For some reason the doors are kept open. Reported this but there was no change.

It's a splendid property located at a mountain top with 360 degree views. Views from all sides of the hotel are just magnificent. On a clear day you can even see the snow laden mountains in the distance. It's a self contained resort and deserves a minimum 2 night stay to do justice to all the facilities offered by it. It offers a complimentary "High Tea" at 5 pm which is very good and not to be missed. There is a nice game zone for toddlers, small kids and adults. There is a temperature controlled jacuzzi and pool. We had two, a 2 year and a 8 year old, kids with us and they had a blast. Its was a truly memorable experience for our full family.

There is no complain as such. However, my only suggestion to the hotel's management is to introduce some kind of system so that only serious guests book some of the facilities offered. We tried booking jacuzzi but it was fully booked for the day. However, when we were casually passing through the area we saw the facility not in use. When we enquired, we were told that the family which had booked the slot didn't turn up. The attendant was very cooperative and allowed us to use the facility anyway. I saw this happening for 2 -3 slots in the morning. Families simply book and then don't turn up.

The property is newly built, luxurious, comfortable, clean, and is located at a serene location with beautiful views of the lush green valley. The Jiva Spa services and staff is also very professionally sound.

The food they put up on buffet is not comparable to Taj’s standards. Not at all lavish. Breakfast was average and dinner was below average. Dishes were lying cold. The training of the staff at the restaurant particularly and in general also is not at par with the Taj’s hospitality. The last 200 mtr road stretch on the hill that ultimately leads to the property is very narrow and it is difficult for the cars when coming from either directions to cross each other. No staff has been deployed for coordination. Thats stupidity because as a customer one needs to get down from his/her car to coordinate so that one can take entry and the other can exit.

We are glad that we ended up booking Taj theog after contemplating all 5star properties in Shimla and beyond. I stayed with my family and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is 30kms from hustle and bustle of Shimla and offers amazing 360 views of valley if its not surrounded by clouds😉. We have stayed in many resorts but the hospitality here was truly top notch. Special mention to Shamsher in pool area who went over and above to find the lost ear ring of my wife! Raman in dining area with a smile on his face kept us entertained and was genuinely interested in making our stay memorable! He organised cake and other surprises for my sister’s b’day. Sushant helped us with making right decisions on local cuisine and places to enjoy. Jitendra in activity area gave us the shooting and archery tips and was very competitive in some of the games i played with him😊. Overall would rate 11/10👍🏻

TV in rooms could have Netflix, other ott. Daily shuttle could be organised for Shimla/ Mall road given the distance.

The food offered at Tragopan, makes it a fully indulging experience. Mr.Bhandari, the restaurant manager is a Taj to Tragopan, his hospitality is beyond words can explain and his passion for food makes trusted choices that leaves you mesmerized. The best part of the stay was the serene view and food we ate. I cannot forget Gitesh, always smiling and greeting. He keeps on insisting to serve. i must have ate more becoz of him. Miss.Anshitha, Mr. Krish and many amazing people. They make you feel, not wanting to check out and leave (: we needed to get some medicine during the stay and they managed to get it from the local market and didn’t even charge for it. very warm and caring team of Taj .

The drive there. Accessibility is bad , If Shimla airport opens I would love to go again. until then its mixed feelings .

the staff was Excellant, specially Anshita, Pratibha at front desk, Vishal at room service, shashant and Mr. Patel Chefs, team of Florence at Spa, Anil the panic guide, Balveer & Gaurav at restaurant, Krish the manager. food was Excellant, both chefs took great care in managing Gluten free food. property is situated 2& half hour further up from Shimla. the hot pool and jacuzzi was amazing. the view from our room has Snow clad mountains.

Breakfast spread could be better , taste was nothing special , almost like regular restaurants. Rooms were really small - not worth the price. Even if the view is good , all hotels in Shimla would offer the same view. Property navigation is difficult and could be explained better. Could be more child friendly , its difficult when there is just one high chair ! Which was also really dirty.

Everything. The service was impeccable. The location is excellent on a hill top lined with pine and deodar trees. From outside the property looks majestic and from inside the it is a modern luxurious chalet.
