This is a good hotel if you are going to Rote or need the airport in Kupang. The staff are experts in getting you between the ferry terminal and your flight. Everything can be arranged, and it makes the journey much easier. The decor of the hotel is Tex-Mex, US southwest and the rooftop bar/restaurant has incredible sunset views over the city.

The hotel is a bit outside of town, near the airport. If you are only transferring to and fro this is no issue, or if you wan to go to town you can use a Grab or Gojek easily. Not a big issue, but do be aware you are not in the downtown area of Kupang (which may be a plus).

They really had thought of everything, the room had everything you needed. 10/10

Slow service in the restaurant, my main course arrived 30 minutes before my friends'. 3 appetizers and 3 mains took 2 hours to arrive. I was asked for 50k for transfer to the airport. I said that was too much and it was reduced to 25k. I assumed that was a private ride, but there was another traveler too. Felt a bit shady.

Ok, you're probably looking at this because you need a layover to get to Rote or any of the other islands... La Hasienda is the place to have that layover. Key reason is that Michael, the owner, will go out of his way to help you get to where you need to go. He helps with buying the tickets for fast/slow ferry or plane and shuttles you there to make sure you catch it. Also, and very importantly, in case of weather complications (which I had) he'll help you figure out the best alternative mode of transport, so that you're not stuck longer than you have to. Good quality food with some German specialties on the menu, as well as an overall attention to detail throughout the property, which you don't find that often in this part of the world.

Great option as accomodation in Kupang before and after visiting Rote Island. Close to airport, but not far from the centre of town either. Services such as airport and/or ferry pick ups and drop offs very well managed. Staff were friendly and responsive. Michael, the owner was good company. Restaurant menu is a good range of options, and delivers on taste and value.

Lovely hotel, nearby airport. Friendly staff, and a nice pool to cool down after a day in the sun. Air in the room makes a nice chill.

Restaurant on top floor is nice, however service is very slow and portion of food is small. It does have a nice selection of drinks and adult beverages though and great views over Kupang.

If you're heading to Rote like us with lots of luggage surfboards, etc, then you can't go wrong staying here. They take care of everything for you. They pick you up from airport, book your ferry, transfer all your luggage onto the boat and even walk you to the ferry itself. Fantastic service. The hotel is great too 🙂

It’s a great location for airport hotel and its on a hill with a great view of the city, Kupang. If you like artsy bohemian Mexican style you will love this hotel and how the German owner Mikel built it from scratch. There’s so much personality at this place you can’t help but to enjoy the pool, restaurant, music, views and his staff. I also was super grateful for the airport and harbor transportation the hotel provided. Post “Rona pandemic “ can be challenging for travelers and business owners.

I guess my only very little complaint was waiting for breakfast too long before my shuttle to airport.

Super nice, clean and comfortable room, beautiful sunset terasse and good food. Everything is organized smoothly from Airport to Ferry and back. Can only recommend!

Personally I think the pool is not so nice and the area is also just the road, but anyway I wasn’t gonna hang around there so nevermind.

We had an unexpected stopover in Kupang due to a flight cancellation. Staying at Hasienda was like a mini one night holiday. Great food, cold beer, exceptional cocktails and comfortable room. Superb rooftop views and perfectly situated for the airport. Amazing value for money.

Interesting and unique property. Friendly and attentive staff. Very well organized for airport <-> ferry transfers. Staff can help arrange ferry tickets to Rote. The bar/restaurant upstairs is a great place to kill time with an epic view. Tasty food - try the chicken enchilladas.
