there are only 10 room - we were in 7 which is on the alley side. we had no problem with noise - not sure about rooms on the other side of the hall. room was roomy enough and very modern. the hotel is literally around the corner from the cruise ship shuttle buses, so it could not be more convenient. there are also stores and restaurants a block away.

it is a bit sterile and we only had 1 small towel in the bath. there is no one on site, so can’t call to get anything.

Very clean and modern hotel a very short distance (less than 5 minute walk with luggage) to the cruise terminal shuttle stop. This a great place to stay before or after a cruise. Domenico was very helpful getting us settled in. There are coffee shops and restaurants nearby, and even a grocery store just about a block away if you want to pick up any beer or inexpensive bottles of wine. And...the private car Domenico arranged for us was 20 Euro less than the quote we got from a different property for the same transfer.

The street can be a noisy, so the rooms on the back of the property are better than the ones that face the street. I needed a former barista's help (Thanks Jen!) to figure out how to work the espresso machine in the lobby, so posting some instructions would be a benefit.

Location was very convenient for cruise shuttle. Unit was clean. Glad it had a safe. Near market and a few restaurants.

No breakfast (just snacks) and for the price, there should have been one. Also found a large stain on the comforter and left note. No microwave. No directions for shower. Shower and bathroom floor were very slippery. No directions for coffee machine in lobby. Didn't get assigned room until a few hours before check-in, so never saw it in advance. I had to test which door opened with my QR code.

I, personally, did not stay on the hotel, our 2 workers did. I was in contact with Mr. Giordano and the support from the moment we booked until they left was over the top. He made sure if our workers knew how to get there, explain how to enter and in any question we had, he immediately responded. Thank you fir your support. Excellent service

This was our first time using an non attended reception hotel and it worked very well. Pre arrival we received a QR code for main door and room entry accompanied by a video explaining use of the code. Back up was available by telephone or email and the response time was excellent. We would us this hotel again . We have no complaints.

so close to the port, it was a stone's throw. Staff were amazingly helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Although it's a hefty walk to the main part of Civitavecchia, it was fine, but those with mobility issues may struggle. Hotel is very clean and modern and served our needs. Mini bar was stocked with nibbles water , juice and coffee. Just a shame the hotel has no bar or breakfast facilities (lovely little coffee shop very close, who did amazing pastries for breakfast.) can't fault the hotel, and Barbara even met up with us on her day off and birthday, as we didn't have a clue where to go outside of our room. We stayed again on our return from the cruise. Very good. May be helpful for other staff to learn a little more English for when Barbara isn't around. We got by......but would just make it that tad easier. Although QR code entry is ultra modern, even the owner got locked out and had to reset it, but those are the joys of modern tech.

other than what l have already mentioned, it was a great hotel so didn't not like anything. Yes a pool would be great, but there is a great lido up the road for €10 each for the whole day (you need a swimming hat or €5 for 1 they sell). Yes a bar would nice too, but it's generally a cruise stop, rather than a family holiday hotel, so depends on your expectations. Civitavecchia is not really a holiday place as such, the beach is very rocky and you need shoes to go in the sea. A few days as a stop before a cruise is a main reason and this hotel is perfect for that. Maybe not so if you have kids who want activities and a pool though.

My family of 3 stayed at Hotel Smart Cruise on June 30, 2023. We had booked this hotel for one night before departing on a cruise. We arrived late in the evening, and the manager warmly greeted us, explaining all the amenities. The refrigerator and mini bar were complimentary and he checked to make sure our Air Condition was working. It was great - nice and cool! The beds were comfortable and the shower was wonderful. The manager even recommended a wonderful pizzareia only a few steps away. This was the best pizza we ate the entire trip through Italy and the pizza was approx 1 euro a slice depending on the weight. The next morning the manager greeted us and gave us a parting gift of an Italian magnet. He then helped with us with our luggage, only a minutes from the hotel to the free bus stop that took us to the cruise port. This hotel is wonderful and you won't find a better place for comfort, price and hospitality!!!

Everything exceeded our expectation.

The Hotel Smart Cruise was simply superb in every aspect: closeness to cruise shuttle bus area, modern interior, clean, spotless room and extremely helpful staff on site. Despite the online description of the hotel as having no check in desk, there actually was a staffed reception table. The woman who was there checked on the status of our room with housekeeping and told us we could go ahead and go into our room since it was ready. Since it was earlier than the official check-in time, our QR code would not yet open the door. The reception person asked the housekeeper to let us in. This was such a wonderful occurrence since we had been flying overnight from the US. It was wonderful to be able to get into our room to nap a nd recover from jetlag! I would recommend Hotel Smart Cruise to anyone leaving on a cruise from Civitavecchia. It is also very close to restaurants ,a grocery store and the historic sites near the port area. We were also able to arrange private car transportation to the hotel from the Rome Airport through HSC. Tony our driver was great and very informative about the port and the price was as competitive as any other airport transportation.

I wish we could remember the front desk manager’s name, he was the best! He greeted us with warmth, super friendly, and willing to help from the first hello. He even went out of the way to help us print our luggage tags, which we forgot to do. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and pillows. I am very picky and particular to cleanliness, and book hotels based on this. The refrigerator had a bottle of Champagne, Juices, and Water, which was a very nice touch. They even had Robes & Slippers. It was only a 10 minute walk from the Train Station, so walk and save your money if you don’t have a lot of luggage. For people going on a Princess Cruise, it was literally a 2-3 walk from the Free Shuttle that takes you to the Port.

Luggage racks would have been helpful, but most places we stayed in Europe did not have them, so I am assuming this is the norm. This amenity would have been a bonus, but not in a deal breaker in anyway.

Walkable from cruise port. Great for overnight. Housekeeping staff were priceless! We were early arriving. I sent an email to the owner(?) to see if we could get in our room earlier. He immediately contacted housekeeping staff who in turn, cleaned our room first so we could go straight in and settle. Thank you!!

No reception; electronic doors to enter hotel. Couldn’t get in with QR code sent. Thankfully housekeeping staff came to rescue. Turns out there is an additional code LINK sent in confirmation email for the front door. Needed clearer instructions.
