The breakfast was one of our best meals of the entire trip. It was very plentiful and everything was homemade and local. Was genuinely amazing. The host family are lovely and the rooms were more spacious than anywhere else we stayed. I loved the property and there was lots of parking. This was easily our favorite leg of our trip and this hotel was the biggest highlight. The hosts gave great recommendations on the days the weather was not cooperating

The personnel were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was among the best we had on our tour of Sicily; it even included three kinds of granita with the whipped cream and buns for the traditional Sicilian breakfast. There was also an amazing variety of sweets, tarts and cannoli. We also had the “buffet’ dinner one night which was was excellent and abundant, all with local products from the Baglio garden and farm. Once again, there were three sweets for dessert and wine and water came with the dinner, which was reasonably priced.

The small driveway is hard to see from the highway and not very well marked. Our phone GPS led us astray, sending us to the wrong locale. Once there, the hotel was an oasis of peace even though it is located next to a busy highway.

The proprietor was friendly, attentive and kind. He clearly takes care of his staff who are like a big extended family As two of the very last guests for the season we were privileged to be invited to join them all for their last night communal meal. Magical. The breakfasts were superb. All were typical Sicilian dishes made by the staff who take huge pride in their skill. And justifiably. A lovely historical building.

What a wonderful hotel! Everything was perfect. The entire hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, and the food was delicious. The owner and all of the staff were warm and friendly and showed great attention to detail. The breakfasts and dinners were the best throughout our entire stay in Sicily.

Baglio Catalano was the best place we stayed at in this holiday - and exceeded all expectations. The baglio Catalano is located in a quiet area yet close to local shops as well as Macari, Cornino, Riserva dello Zingaro, San Vito lo Capo. Tastefully refurbished to high standard, the baglio has a charming feel. The room was simple but curated in every detail (from mosquito nets on every window to high quality toiletries and quiet air-con system). The communal areas in the back and front courtyards a great place for relaxing in the shade provided by greenery and fabric sails. The breakfast was superb - organic ingredients for the homemade ‘granita’, pastries and jams as well as savoury ‘pane cunzato’ and local cheeses. We also stayed for a buffet dinner - a variety of local dishes again homemade with quality ingredients. Tonino and the staff proactively took care of us and other guests and shared their knowledge of the area and of local culture. I couldn’t recommend this place more, and in retrospect I wish I spent more nights here - will definitely go back!

Dinner served too late (20:30-21:00). Entrance from road requires a very tight turn if coming from east.

I only very rarely write any review (usually only if the stay was horrible) but this place definitely deserves it! When I seen the revues I was quite suspicious a place in a little town like this could have such a high ranking but wow, when it comes to hospitality and having the real Sicilian experience this was definitely the highlight of our trip! The owner is super nice, welcoming, educated man speaking good English, ready to help you with anything needed same as everyone else from the stuff (I suppose from the the same family). The food is just pure excellence and if you have any dietary restrictions as a pharmacist the owner is very acknowledged what you can or can’t eat (which is usually a huge problem in Sicily) and the lady preparing the meals will come up with meal suitable for you (did I mention how great the food is already?). If you have a spare day to spend little bit further from the beach or you are only after experiencing something unique instead of sunbathing on the beach this is definitely the place to stay! :)

Only the location can be a problem for someone other than that I really don’t have anything negative to say.

Very cozy environment, with the owners and staff being very helpful and friendly. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional, all home made. Location is very good if you have a car.

everything was perfect, we just fell in love with this place and all the staff there. please dont miss the dinner in the back garden if you want to taste superb sicilian food (the best we had in the island). we will be back for sure and visit Tonino, the host. thank you

The room was small but cozy. The bathroom was big and beautiful! The owner was such a sweet man and the stuff so nice and helpful! But the best of all was THAT BREAKFAST! With organic ingredients and such a variety! The hotel was also in a very comfortable position so you could easily visit San Vito Lo Capo (you SHOULD visit that beach but if you are not under 22-23 years old you should better avoid going there for your night out. Prefer go to Trapani).
