The Hotel du Lac in Gargnano is absolutely magical from its perfect location right on the beautiful lake to its beautiful attention to detail in the decor and furnishings. We felt like we had stepped back in time even though we had all of the modern conveniences one needs. The staff is always available and very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent as is their restaurant, La Bissa that we enjoyed twice. We cannot say enough good things about this truly charming boutique hotel on the lake other than, we will be booking here again in 2025.

We had an amazing opportunity to compare 2 locations at Lago di Garda. And this place at a small Gargnano settlement was just perfect for quiet and lazy holidays. The hotel is literally on the lake and our apartment had a small balcony with breathtaking mountain views. There is a small beach nearby and the hotel provides beach towels, so it was comfy, as we didn't have one. Don't forget to take slippers with you, as the beach is really rocky. It was really quiet place - no loud parties or music, just the sound of the water, cicadas and your own thoughts. The center of Gargnano is really old and beautiful, with nice restaurants and especially polite and friendly staff. Just keep in mind, that you have to reserve a table for dinner in advance. The room was comfy, air conditioned, everything you need is there. For comparison. After 3 nights stay at Gargnano we went to a southern part of the lake to the Dezencano. OMG... It was noisy, a lot of people, really overcrowded place. If you are looking for party - it is perfect. But, as we had opportunity to compare these 2 settlements, we would definitely go back to the Gargnano.

Very good breakfast choice & evening meal. The owner, his daughter & staff were all very helpful and friendly. We joined the sister hotel for a wonderful walk to the hotel’s lemon groves which was excellent. We also had a lunch at the sister hotel which was a nice bonus. Our lake view hotel room was lovely. Stunning views. Charming family run hotel and a perfect break in a tranquil and beautiful setting.

Nothing really. We were very happy with the hotel. Maybe tea & coffee facilities in the bedroom. If we were to book again we would also request two lake view bedrooms as the non lake view bedroom was not quite as comfortable and missed having a balcony.

This is a very special, small hotel on the edge of Lake Garda. We had a balcony room with fabulous views across the lake and the sound of the water lapping against the shore all night. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. It is an incredibly relaxing place to be in. Dinner in the restaurant was perfectly cooked and good value. Breakfast was a varied range of hot and cold food

A beautifully run family hotel whose terrace overhangs the crystal clear water of lake garda. Put together in the perfect blend of modern and traditional to give it a real charm. All exceeded our expectations. The photo included here is from our breakfast spot.

Absolutely nothing.

Lovely hotel, old fashioned in a gracious and gentle way. We could only get a room without a view of the lake or balcony and thought it might be pokey and dark but it was lovely - light and airy. Owner and staff also gracious and very helpful. An added bonus was the beach belonging to this and its sister hotel with free sunbeds for guests.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Beautiful location, ambiance and terrace. Beach access was also great. Good breakfast. Staff were very helpful and accomodating!

Food at restaurant was not great. Would suggest that you book at a restaurant in Gargnano for dinner

Hotel Du Lac is a fantastic place to aspire lake Garda's phenomenal atmosphere. The staff is friendly, calm, helps with organizing dining, activities, but even with specific problems such as urgent repair of hiking shoes. Guaranteed even during the Covid pandemic a welcoming and warm atmosphere in trying to make our vacation pleasurable and comfortable. Breakfast literally on lake Garda plus morning sun plus Italian coffee. Strong recommendations!

Charming hotel right on the water in a quiet spot with parking close by. You can swim from the steps into the lake at the side of the hotel and sunbath on the terrace. There is also a small beach nearby and the hotel provide towels for beach and free sunbeds. Breakfadt was superb.

The hotel has its very nice charm, literally sitting by the like with access to the crystal clear water right through a side-door. It offers breathtaking views od Lago di Garda both from the room's balcony as well as spacious breakfast terrace and additional seatings at near-water level. You also get free access to a nearby beach including beach beds, parasol and towels. Nice breakfasts, free parking with a card provided by the hotel in viscinity, about 700m walk to Gargnano centre with calm atmosphere and a few good restaurants. The owner was amazing and helpful. Ask for reservation for dinner at their afiliated Ristorante Rivalgo where we had possibly the best seafood and fish ever!

There was no ironing set to borrow.
