Hotel Martino is very nice. Everything like the welcome from Michela and Ida, to the room with an amazing view, nice buildings and restaurant was great. Breakfast was delicious, and served on their beautiful terrace, it cannot be much better. They even have their own wine. We tried the Rosè, Ester, named after the granddaughter of the house, very good. Food at the restaurant was also very good, and all the personel worked hard to satisfy our needs. We would certainly like to stay again, if ever in the area. Keep up the good job, hotel Martino and thank you for a good stay.

This is just a tiny complain, but it seems a little strange, you get charged 5 Euros to have a bottle of wine from the fridge, instead of from their cabinet. But as written above, their wines are good.

I am so glad I stumbled across this wonderful property and location by a suggestion in a YouTube video. This hotel packs amazing value and has amazing charm that makes you feel relaxed and experiencing true Italy. The onsite restaurant is 10/10, probably the best meal we’ve had in Italy so far. I could tell the ingredients were super fresh and the staff were outstanding with their service and patience with my terrible attempts at Italian. The front of house staff were great too, they spoke great English and informative of everything. The location is great too, isolated enough to have no noise, sans the occasional train, the most incredible views, and if you’re keen a steep 15 minute walk to the beach. You are 25 minutes drive the Christ the Redeemer Statue which is majestic at sunset. The rooms and facilities are well kept and clean. They had an army of staff making the place look great. Plenty of onsite free parking too.

I’m being very picky here, but the sauna was blocked off from use. No notes or signs, but no big deal.

What a gem of a hotel. It has wonderful facilities, a gorgeous indoor rim pool and lovely patios that look out at stunning views of the Maratea coast. Our room was very spacious, had wonderful air conditioning, a nice sized bathroom, and a small fridge. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere so we had our dinners at the on-site restaurant, which is reasonably priced and serves great food. There’s not much to do in the area except relax at the pool or the beach, so we did the James Bond Kayaking tour with Enrico, which was fantastic and such fun and very good value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is situated south of Maratea in an isolated area that has no shops or grocery stores nearby. If you are traveling by train, you need to carefully plan your train trips. Maratea train station is an hour and a half walk from the hotel but there is a tiny train station called Marina di Maratea which is an 11 minute walk from the hotel. However, most trains bypass this station. There are only about 3 trains that stop at the station - one very early at 7:44am and then again around 1pm and 3:30pm. There are no buses that serve Maratea and surrounds. So be very careful when booking your train tickets to ensure you stop at the right station.

This hotel has a simply wonderful location with amazing views of the beautiful coast of Maratea. It’s also situated close to a range of wonderful beaches with fantastic lidos. The staff are friendly and helpful and always welcoming and they serve a wonderful Italian breakfast as you gaze at the beautiful sea and mountains in the distance. The restaurant attached is also fantastic, with delicious dishes. Ok it’s only 3 stars, but honestly, with a location like this, friendly staff and a nice breakfast, who cares! It’s lovely!

The only 2 small criticisms I could make - and they’re more of doable suggestions to be honest - are: 1. to add a few more tables and chairs to the beautiful terrace they have. It’s a wonderful place to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world and it’s also a great place to sit and have an after dinner drink before going to bed - would be good to just have even 2 or 3 more tables and sets of chairs…then it would be really perfect! 2. Some mosquito nets on the windows in the room would really help guests enjoy that incredible view as they get ready to go out or come back..!

Hotel is beautifully located, with views west to watch the sunset into the sea. Tasteful public areas and the on-site standalone restaurant was one of the best meals we had on our trip. For what we paid, the room was comfortable with big bed, good bathroom, good wi-fi and very clean. However, we only had a juliet balcony and the room was very small - if you can afford it, it would be worth paying for a room with a balcony to make the most of those views! But there are lots of public areas with seating if not. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room was smaller than we'd anticipated - our fault for not checking the details before booking.

Great view! Good structure, accessible for wheelchair and people with low mobility, they have elevator. Also offer a heated pool. Really nice breakfast.

There is work being done on the road, for those coming from the south (Sicily, Tropea…), which means that the access to the hotel is modified. Adding at least an extra hour to your trip due to the detour. Of course it's not the hotel's fault, just a warning!

The location and the value it presented

It was surprising chilly evening which caught everyone out and therefore we had to sit in the open which was rather chilly after 8pm, however we cannot hold the hotel responsible for the weather Perhaps some overhead heaters might be worth considering when the weather changes unexpectedly

Great room with sea view, good aircon & nice bathroom. Shuttle bus runs two to three times a day down to the beach where sun loungers are provided with a voucher from the hotel. Restaurant was lovely & we enjoyed a top quality evening meal. Breakfast good.

Room had a kettle & coffee but no milk or mugs/cups - only glasses. Shower leaked.

Lovely quiet place to relax and enjoy the views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Own beach just a few hundred metres from the hotel with light refreshments and food available. Highly recommend boat trip there n the Marvin. Dinner and breakfast was lovely served in a beautiful outdoor setting with very tentative staff

The sea views were lovely and it was secluded and peaceful.

The sauna and jacuzzi were not in use and shouldn’t be in the description. I think the lido is misleading as it’s a service that is added to your bill rather than a service at your disposal.
