The five-star Grand Hotel Palace is the ideal place for a vacation in a refined and luxurious Italian-Sicilian spirit. The hotel is in baroque and renaissance luxury of decadence style. The staff at the hotel are professional and simply dedicated to their guests from all over the world, from Denmark to the United States of America. The most delicious Italian wines and the best Marsali espresso coffee are served here. Breakfast at the hotel is buffet style. From Italian savory to the most delicious sweet specialties. Bartender Giovanni Lo Cascio is professional and diligent, he was at our service every second. Ms. Daniella from reception is really nice and professional. The outdoor swimming pool in particular adorns the oasis of the old Palace Hotel. The water is warm and clean. At the pool there is a beautiful garden for aperitif services and a restaurant (food and meals). Be sure to try Gambere and a sandwich with tuna, salad and a special tomato. A white wine that smells like fresh lemon perfume, it's great. The service inside the hotel goes to the signature for the room. So everything is made easy for you. You don't have to carry personal documents and money, or bank cards and wonder if you'll ever lose them. Room are amazing and luxury. We will come back to this wonderful hotel again. Marsala is a historical place that you will enjoy to the maximum. You can visit the Marakaibo beach with an agreement at the hotel reception, which will organize a transfer for you within 15 minutes from and to the hotel with a 30% discount on sunbeds and umbrellas. The hotel is a bit like a throwback to a bygone time, but it works. Service (pool) can be a little slow, but it's still provided and with friendly staff. The air con works brilliantly (which was needed in the inferno heat we had!) and our room was a great size and comfortable. Shower could do with an update. The best thing about this hotel though is the pool, it's massive and has a diving board for endless fun. There is lots of shade for those not wanting the sun. The restaurant isn't used by guests for anything other than breakfast which seems a shame, but there are lots of wonderful restaurants in Marsala. Hotel is located just near the old town, is walkable or there is car park 5 mins away.

Bit dated, but to be honest, that really didn't matter to us.

The property had a nice large pool with sun loungers. It was great for cooling down in the hot summer. We could order drinks around the pool from the staff there in the afternoon. The rooms were large and very clean with a minibar / fridge. The breakfast buffet was good for Italian standards and the guy making us cappuccinos and espresso macchiatos was so friendly and nice. Staff was nice and friendly.

The hotel was a bit worn out, and the room smelled a bit like old tobacco. But it was very clean - but had a certain smell. At the breakfast a lot of items were gone by 10 am although breakfast was served until 10:30.

This hotel really went out of their way to make us welcome and give us old fashioned service. A truly excellent breakfast was included and we ate in one night and the food was, again, excellent. Especially the sea urchin pasta. The pool is a superb way to relax in a luxurious setting in the mid summer heat.

The distance from the historic center was a little more than we expected, however if you walk along the front and then take a left to the via Mazzini it's a pleasant wall past an irrestible ice cream parlor.

We stayed here only for one night- the sleepover. The room was very nice and clean and with beautiful interior (as the whole place). We had to leave the hotel early, but they let us have breakfast even though it was not fully served just yet. Very beautiful place with nice garden :)

Overall the whole stay was very comfortable and nice, we enjoyed it. Just wanted to point out the location of the hotel- better get a taxi to get there if willing to have fast arrival. We walked from Marsala train station and google maps brought us to the completely wrong side of the place and we had to go around. Also, not all roads there have sidewalks, so you need to walk side by side with cars :D

Really grand hotel, lovely room, good size. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One of us was ill whilst there and we couldn’t go out for dinner. The hotel were catering for a large party but still managed to provide room service. The pool looked great, the gardens were well kept and the breakfast was also good. I would recommend staying here and we will return as we didn’t feel we got the most out of it.

Nothing to dislike

The breakfast was good - great range of sweet and savoury food. The juice was the only thing that wasn't brilliant - very synthetic tasting. The room was spacious with really comfy beds. We asked for all 5 rooms to be close if possible and we were all next to each other which made it so much easier - especially having children sharing in rooms next to parents. The pool was WONDERFUL! Large and warm and great diving board. Plenty of space in the sun and shade around and felt we had 5 star service when the ice-cream cart came pool side and someone took orders for drinks and brought them to us. This felt like a very adult environment which can sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable when travelling with children but they were welcomed and we all felt very comfortable.

The public spaces were excellent including the dining room and breakfast room. The meals in the restaurant were excellent and no more expensive than in town. Breakfast although more suited to the Italian taste was okay for us with fresh fruit available and eggs to order. The swimming pool was great for a swimmer and as a bonus had a diving board. The service was very good with everyone being polite and extremely helpful.

The toilet block near the swimming pool although very clean is in need of modernisation. Although meals were available at lunch time by the pool generally throughout the day you had to go to reception to order drinks. Although I understand that the volume of guests did not justify a permanent service at poolside a means of ordering from reception using a telephone or similar would have been helpful. Rooms were cleaned late during the day just when we were returning from a day out, after requesting this to be changed ours rooms were cleaned a little earlier although we missed having the room cleaned on 3 occasions. The stairway carpets needed to be cleaned more often something dropped on the carpet stayed there for the entirety of the 10 day stay.

Excellent pool, breakfast was OK, staff were really helpful and gave us some great tips for Marsala and the surrounding area. Florio Cantina next door had an excellent marsala tasting tour. Grand Palace Hotel is a great base for exploring the West of Sicily - we thought that we needed to drive to Trapani to visit the Egadi Islands but the ferry to Favignana goes from 900 metres away. A wonderful day cycling and swimming on the island

Being on the main road it was a little dangerous to walk into town (about 2 kms). Even getting to the lovely rooftop restaurant next door was a bit scary.
