Further)The Casa del Pellegrino is the perfect place to come to Monte Sant'Angelo as a pilgrim or religiously minded visitor. The facilities are first class with every comfort and ultra clean but unostentatious - perfect! There is a cafe and good sized very comfortable seating area in the lobby, with a small cafe. Breakfast is simple & excellent. There is the opportunity to have lunch or dinner in the restaurant at great value. Quality so so, but we are pilgrims! All the staff are all very courteous and friendly. Location!! It is a 1 (one) minute walk to the entrance of the Sanctuary of St Michael. The centro storico, the castle - and everything is on your doorstep. Monte Sant'Angelo is a fantastic genuine town worth much more than a short stay. There is a SITA bus stop again a 1 (one) minute walk away (services from this stop to San Giovanni Rotundo, some continuing further ). The main town centre stop less then 10 minutes with more services. But check timetables carefully (we were caught out!) Please God we are definitely coming back to Monte Sant'Angelo & the Sanctuary - and will definitely stay at the Casa del Pellegrino again. Many thanks!

The location of the hotel was perfect for visitors of the Cave of Saint Michael. The Sanctuary was right next to the hotel and we were taught that there is an elevator in the hotel that takes us directly to the floor of the cave inside the sanctuary. We were able to use that elevator several times to enter the sanctuary during our stay. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was big. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Monte Sant'Angelo.

It is right next to the Sanctuary. It is built into the hillside. So the entrance and reception from the road is actually the 6th floor and the elevator goes down to the rooms on 5th floor and below (my room had a beautiful view), restaurant on 3rd floor and it does down to zero floor where there is another road. Across the road is dedicated parking for the hotel. Everything looks new and spotlessly clean. Very, very friendly and helpful staff. This is the first time I stayed at Monte Sant'Angelo. I always did day trips from San Giovanni Rotondo. But not anymore. I was not rushed and had time to explore the town. And I found my place to stay in the future. There is no reason to look elsewhere. This has everything including a great location. The temperature dropped in early April and the room was warm and cozy. And there are plenty of extra blankets that I didn't use.

I liked the lobby area with coffee bar where guests mingled. The staff was friendly and was patient with me not knowing Italian. Of course the access to the Basilica was phenomenal. Location, location, location

The lighting in my room was not good. The overhead light in the entry vestibule did not work and when I reported it, it was not fixed. The chandelier in the the bedroom area was missing a light bulb and was not replaced when asked. Even though I spent 2 nights there. The electric outlet where the bedside lamp was supposed to be plugged in, was broken and pushed back into the wall. I didnot report this because was too difficult to try to translate. So in all, three lights did not work in the room. Also, I thought the dinner was overpriced. I should have asked the price beofre I took the 2 dinners because I was surprised to be charged 39 Euro for 2 dinners in the dining room. Service was great in the dining room, but the food value was not there.

Everything, the ladies at the reception are incredibly helpful and kind. The bedroom was clean, warm, I could find 4 blankets in the cupboard, it was a relief after a long trip and I was very cold. There is a direct access to the grotto. Oh yes, and there is a private car park! I didn't know that when I booked and it proved very helpful as well because parking in Monte Sant Angelo is a challenge. I will come back for sure. Incredible stay.

Nothing, everything was perfect

Location, location, location!!! It’s the best place for a pilgrim to stay and participate in all the prayers at St Michael Sanctuary. Very clean and peaceful. It was almost like living on the sanctuary grounds .

Great localisation - 100 m from Amazing place- Sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo. Basic but clean accomodation typical for pilgrim houses. Very friendly staff. Typical Italian breakfast so you will not be very full after it :)

Comfortable reception area. Room with a super view. Warm welcome. All in all, it was very pleasant.

In my opinion, the standard of pasta, meat, and salard dishes was not up to Italian standards.

The location was Great next to the St Michael Shrine and I had a Comfortable Stay. The Reception Staff was very helpful and welcoming.
