The breakfast - quiet piano music playing from the speakers, huge window towards the coastline and hills. Very friendly service. Variable enough for breakfast, with fresh juices and nice coffee. The staff spoke good English and were very accommodating and friendly. It was cold (+8) outside and the rooms were warm. The location is awesome, you're going to be on a high cliff-like landscape with views over the old volcanic hills, lava fields and the sea on the backdrop. In the evening the clouds covered the area and we were hanging right below them, one of the most awesome color play I've seen. Very close to the facilities for visiting Etna, I'd even say walkable.

Okay, the tea was 3€ when we wanted to get some, which is way over the top, because usually there is water heater and some tea in the room. But it did not ruin our experience or anything, just something for you to consider :)

Very nice greetings from property, they offered us a lovely cup of tea in front of fire place upon check in. Beautiful interiors, antiques furniture and the young management is very hospitable and proud to share the history of this family business. We enjoyed the dinner paired with the red Vulca' wine (highly recommended). A nice gem in the highest part of mount Etna.

Breakfast options could be improved, would be nice to have also keys for the front door without asking reception to open every time.

The host was very friendly and helpful. He spoke English very well. He waited for us to arrive as we took the wrong way and arrived 30 minutes after the latest check-in time. The house had its unique character with old-style furniture and the whole interior. The room was also old-style but charming at the same time. Comfortable bed and a nice view of the surrounding greenery. Clean room and bathroom. Parking just by the property. Good breakfast made of sweet and savory. During breakfast, we could hear in the background calm classical music that fitted very well.

Unfortunately, the wifi did not work very well, but it was a temporary technical issue, we were told.

I did like everything in the hotel. An elegant disign of the hotel, friendly stuff members, cosy room, bathroom is shining with cleaness. The most incredible thing is the feeling that we found ourselves in a forest fairy tale. The location is simply excellent, complete unification with nature combined with modern comfort.

We found the pillows a bit hard. This is the only thing I would improve.

The location is unbeatable: perfect for a hike on Mt Etna and for those who seek a break from the sicilian heat. The staff is kind and always ready to help. It was my second time here at Hotel Villa Dorata and I'm glad I was able to find Marco again: such a great host! I had dinner at the hotel as I was too tired to go somewhere else and the food was really good. If you're going to spend one or two nights on Mt Etna I highly recommend Hotel Villa Dorata!

The property is very charming. It’s a 100 year old hotel with the original furnishings in an excellent location (about half way up Mount Etna). The staff and the owner were very nice and accommodating. Dinner was outstanding, the property has an excellent chef. it’s a great value for the money. We highly recommend this property, it’s a gem.

The stairs were pretty steep but is expected in a 100-year old house.

Wonderful stay in an elegant hotel extremely close to Mt. Etna. The staff was excellent, and the breakfast was very good. We loved the decor and the peaceful atmosphere reminiscent of lodges near nature reserves. It is a great option for people who want to get to Mt. Etna early in the morning.

The wifi in the rooms was extremely weak. We needed to come to the lobby to use it.

The property was beautiful, and the view, rooms, and indoor architecture were unique. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they took great care of guests.

Lack of vegetarian options on the menu, we stayed two days and the only thing we could eat without meat was the same pasta every day.

Excellent for My Etna visit lovely setting and out of the main area. We loved it clean and in an old Dukes house which has been altered into a hotel. We had dinner there which was great and easy parking. Best place to stay for mountain visit. It’s renovated but keeps it’s old world charm

Villa Dorata is a very nice calm location, furnished with taste from the 1920s, a trip in the past. The position is great to visit Etna, and walk around. The room was comfortable and well equipped, the food also great with an abundant breakfast. Definitely recommended!
