The location is wonderful, the historic palazzo is beautifully decorated, the rooms are cleaned every day, and even all the belongings are neatly arranged. The breakfasts are quite good, with a wide selection by Italian standards, not just coffee and croissants. The hotel staff is also amazing, very responsive and friendly. We were left with only warm impressions!

We chose the Amorini room; if you like to sleep in, it might be a problem because the room is right across from the reception, and it can be noisy.

The staff were amazing and a credit to the hotel. Francesca on reception went above & beyond to help us. The ladies that cleaned our room daily were so thorough. The ladies behind the bar provided a first class service and kept our drinks flowing😀. And not forgetting the staff who ensured our breakfast was prepared to a high standard. What more could we ask for! This hotel is a little gem and the owner should be very proud of his team.

Palazzo Cicolone exceeded our expectations IN EVERY WAY. Everything from the lovely and helpful receptionists to the over-the-top breakfasts to the balconies that overlook the cobblestone street, to the blackout shades, to the beautifully restored and designed spaces. You can tell the staff really understands how to pamper their guests. We’ve never been so impressed by any guest experience anywhere in the world—it was a dream.

Everything was more than perfect.

The palace is a beautiful old building, it's right in the middle of the small town of Poggiardo with many facilities around, the rooms are very well kept and renewed, excellent cleaning services, nice breakfast. Also always easy to find a parking nearby.

The walls are quite thin and I was waken up by screaming kids 3 out of 4 mornings. Very family friendly, something to take into account if you want a quiet holiday. Lovely pool but limited spots..

We loved the pool, and the breakfast was really colorful. The hotel is charming, like a little castle. The staff is helpful and kind. Housekeepers are smiling all the time:) and everything is clean. Francesca helped us with everything (receptionist). The room are big, we had enough space.

The staff at the bar can't speak in English and we couldn't put our wet swimsuits to a hanger in the room.

The Palazzo was exactly how I imagined it - big spacey rooms, gorgeous pool and delicious breakfast. The bar is used locally as well as for guests and is great for grabbing snacks and drinks. Francesca was an absolute superstar and arranged days out for us using local drivers as we didn't have a car. She is one of the reasons I wouldn't hesitate to go back. The whole team were wonderful.

Very nice hotel. Easily reachable. Competent and friendly staff. Francesca is keen to make you discover Puglia from a different perspective than the usual 'sun and sea'. Of course she can give you pieces of advice about sea resorts and other nice places to see... However she makes the difference with information about nature, culture, cycling... Just a wonderful place, with a great breakfast !!

This is a stunningly renovated property . Our room was stylish and huge- easily accommodating our family of 4. The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast had extensive choices to suit everyone and the pool Was a nice way to relax after a morning sightseeing.

It is not really a big negative but restaurant choices are limited in Poggiando - you need to be willing to travel 15 to 20mins to other towns or dine in the restaurant at the hotel.

This hotel is just gem in salento. The staff are super friendly and helpful and make you very welcome. The facilities are very tasteful decorated, spacious and comfortable. The pool is quiet and relax for after beach or visiting beautiful towns around. Close to seaside (10 minutes from castro marina) and all towns around that are beautiful. Ask for tips on restaurants. The staff make this already very nice hotel an unforgettable place to have been. I will try to come back.

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Situated in the central square of a lively, small town. The rooms are large and elegant and have good bathrooms. The pool is safe for children. Excellent breakfast. I notified them that our party contained 2 vegans - and they catered for us. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The single bed wasn't in the room on the first night. The online information said there would be bath robes - but there weren't. The restaurant was closed.
