Property is some way outside of the town, but the 30 minute walk on the higher, back road between the two is a nice one, and the private onsens were really relaxing. We particularly liked the dohyo (sumo ring) styled one. Dinner and breakfast were great, too. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a view of the fields and village across the river. Particular mention must go to the staff, who worked hard to communicate in English, allowed us an early check-in and gave us a lift to the train station upon our departure. This was very much appreciated, but, obviously, ought not to be taken for granted.

Comfortable accommodation. Staff friendly and sweet. Breakfast and dinner included (option of 6pm or 6:30pm dinner and 08:00 or 08:30 breakfast) meals are substantial and impressive. There are three private onsens to use at the accommodation, they have a system where guests can take the wooden plaque from the main building with them to signify that it is unavailable. The stay was peaceful and has views of surrounding fields and the tranquil view and sound of a flowing river. Would recommend

The accommodation can get cold overnight so just need to have the heater running now and then to keep the air warm.

The outdoor onsens were plenty in number & easy to get into without waiting. A Kaiseki meal was provided at dinner & breakfast & it was an 11 course tasty meal. The people who run the place were very chill & didnt impose strict rules. So, for a family with a 5 yr old it felt relaxed.

There was nothing that stood out like a sore thumb. The outdoor onsens were made of rough rocks & we got some scratches. So, would ask them to make it smoother

The property was in a small town nestled in the mountains with beautiful views of rice fields and mountain tops. It was quiet and serene. We enjoyed walks in the morning and refreshing baths in the onsens at night.

One thing I would’ve enjoyed is a place to sit outside and relax with view or near the water without feeling confined to the room.

Cozy, countryside ryokan! Some of their hot spring options were better than others. Excellent breakfast + dinner meals, served traditional Japanese omakase style. The staff were able to use google translate and help us coordinate our bus ticket out.

Part of the experience is the traditional mats on tatami floor for sleeping. But I wish we had a few extra pillows or the options to double up on mats as my body wasn’t used to sleeping on the floor

There are family hot spring tubs available, in addition to the private tub inside each room. There is also a public area for men and women."

Breakfast offers a good variety of tasty dishes. The place is located in a quiet village a few minutes drive away from the more touristy group of onsen ryokans, perfect for walks along the creek at the back of the property or an easy hike up the hill.

It’s conveniently located next to express bus-stop snd owner is very helpful. Also, we like the home-cooked exquisite breakfast and dinner meals.

Nothing.

Amazing food and onsens. My first ryokan experience and it was really special. Host gave us a lift to the bus stop when we left, much appreciated.
