The Riverge Akebono is a nice hotel on the banks of the River Asuwa. There is ample parking, and during our stay in early April superb views of the sakura across the river. My wife greatly enjoyed the onsen facilities. There was a minor mix up with our room, so we had to move rooms on the final day of our stay. The management was very apologetic and gave us a free seven course dinner to compensate, and didn't charge us for parking. The Asuwa Shrine is and easy walk up the hill from the hotel.

The sofa was very low down, and rather dusty, which made me sneeze.

Room was small but clean and has everything you need, tea bags, a kettle, a hair dryer, TV, room wears, so on. Amazing breakfast! Enjoyed yummy and fresh food with lots of choices.

Though the Public baths are on the top of the building, you can’t see the view form there. In the changing room of the public bath, the floor around mirrors was dirty with black mold which I didn’t want my barefoot put on. There are two hair dryers (Dyson), but both did not work well, and we and other guests had to use own room’s hair dryers.

The breakfast was great with lots of choices, both Japanese and western. We didn’t need lunch that day. It was raining so it was nice to have a good grill restaurant just across the street, and the parking was covered.

Like all Japanese hotels the pillows are very hard so I end up sleeping with no pillow.

It was wonderful. Room was a good size, nice staff, good location, and the breakfast was great.

Nothing. Maybe a little traffic noise outside, but it’s on a quiet street so it wasn’t really a problem.

I was traveling on business, and reached the hotel earlier than the check-in time. Because the room was ready, they allowed me to check-in. I also switched rooms to stay an extra night (separate from my business trip), and they kindly moved my luggaged to the new room, along with a sweater that I left in my previous room! Thank you!!

The breakfast is out of this world. So delicious! the public bath was also wonderful and the room was clean and great. The bed was actually very comfortable as far as Japanese hotel beds go!
