a small hotel with less than 10 rooms. I loved the decoration with very nice objects, antiques... Nice onsen. Possible to privatise the bath for one hour.

be ready to sit on the floor to eat your meals. Quite difficult for foreigners! the food was good but not as delicate/fine as you could have in other Ryokan. We have 2 type of chicken but no beef and Horse sashimi which I can't take.

Lovely traditional Ryokan with meals cooked and served sitting on the tatami floor around an Irori sunken fire. The staff attended to cooking the various courses over the hot coals and even breakfast was cooked this way. It was delicious and a great experience. Nice onsen and lovely staff and nostalgic old building.

Heating could have been better in our room but it was very cold weather at the time.

I really liked the traditional ryokan atmosphere. The traditional Japanese breakfast was very delicious: you’re served a grilled mackerel cooked directly in front of you in a fire pit! Also, being that the bath was fairly small I thought it was a good idea that they made it a reserved bath for a certain period of time.

The only minor qualm I had was it was a bit pricey, especially as a solo traveler, but with inflation going on, I could understand it.

Nice building, near the bus station, very friendly staff, Inori is very nice

Different from the other hotels it’s not directly next to the river, a bit expensive considering the onsen is very basic, Inori is of the type where there is no extra space for your feet so you have to sit cross-legged

good place for stay, nice private bathroom

Staff can speak English just a little bit, it’s very difficult to communicate but they always try to help. Quite far from station, difficult to access by public transportation.

If you want a traditional experience with kotazu, nice mineral open air onsen this is a great choice. Onsen was good as well as the breakfast. I enjoyed sleeping on futon - it was comfortable and kotazu was sth I really wanted to try out. Also really liked wearing yukata in the hotel.

1) It was cold. (Visited mid-November).No central heating, the room is spacious and heating by an air conditioner helped just a bit. Yes, kotazu and thick blanket are warm, but I did put a hat as my head got really cold + if you go to the toilet, which is in the common space of the corridor - your butt is freezing. Also cold while taking off clothes in onsen. So you can’t comfortably wash yourself as the wind gets to the inside part. 2) you better know some japanese to interact with the staff they are nice, but when checking in in the evening we asked for dinner next day and in the morning lady told us we won’t have any and it has to be booked separately - how, neither she nor through the booking.com messages they never replied. I was rather sad about it as expectations didn’t meet reality. And for a quite pricey hotel you expect sth better than this. 3) we don’t drink coffee and they didn’t even have tea bags for customers to enjoy in the room and no alternative proposed - they could have just given us a tea pot from the kitchen, would be also sufficient. In the room only coffee bags available. So I am happy we moved out to a modern hotel after this experience.
