The location is great! There is a ropeway with small monkey park on top on the mountain maybe 15-20 minutes on foot by the hotel, and the river is very beautiful. I stayed during the autumn leaves season and scenery was fascinating! I also liked the additional facilities at the hotel like manga reading room and karaoke rooms. I came alone, but it still felt like a great place to visit with your family as well!
There wasn't Wi-Fi in the room, only in the lobby, so it might be a problem if not every one with you have a SIM-card. I am pretty sure that I was the only foreigner during my stay, which was OK for me, but might be a minus for some travelers. Also, the place is very clean, but pretty old, and it is noticeable. But for me pluses definitely were much bigger than the minuses, so I still might consider staying here again in the future!

Everything you need is on the property. There are hot springs, vending machines, restaurants, facilities such as a manga room and a massage room
There was no wifi except in the 3rd floor of the Hyakka Building. It’s a big deal for anyone travelling. Hope they fix it. Travel to and from the hotel and the station was also quite difficult with luggage. Its very hard to get a taxi in Kinugawa unless you speak Japanese/have a Japanese phone number, or you’re in a place where you can ask someone to call you a hotel. It can get scary when you arrive near evening

The many selection of food during breakfast and dinner. The room was spacious, bid were big and clean. You can wear yukata anywhere in the building. The onsen was great. The facilities are in different building but there were clear and big instructions around the wall.
the washlet was somewhat broken. you have to wait a longer time before standing or else the spray will continue

the place was very peaceful, relaxing. the halls smelled nice and there was music piping through the halls. nice store in case you forgot something. free ice cream in the lobby. very close to a walking area and the train station. the town was very quiet and did not appear to have a lot of options for food or shopping. convenience store down the street. very nice staff. buffet was enormous.
the bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard and a second pillow would have been nice.

Good quality for the price. Rooms were spacious. Can comfortably fit a family of 4. We had a relaxing time and enjoyed the onsen. We had a good view of the river from our room. Rooms were old but charming.
They speak very little English so be ready with Google Translate. A bit of a walk to the station. Not a lot of restaurants nearby and the nearest convenience store (Lawson) was around an 8 minute walk.

Good meal breakfast and dinner (half board) Big tatami room with bathroom Great view at kinu river Value for money
There are three blocks of building and the onsen timing is a bit odd. However you will get used to it, worth to stay at least two nights.

It's a nice hotel. The reviews I found where not always positive. So went with a mix feeling. But the rooms are big ( special within Japan. It is a small apartment) and nice. The hotel has a lot to offer. Food ( dinner and breakfast are good, also for European).
The futons where hard. But was to expect. So it not that negative.

Big hotel with many choices for the buffet. Dinner comes with snow crab. I saw KTV rooms, reading room and table tennis room for guest to enjoy.
The outdoor onsen and indoor onsen are not linked, which makes it inconvenient if you want to go for both outdoor and indoor onsen.

Breakfast and dinner amazing variety of food and very good quality. Big rooms. Free yukata. Lovely location overlooking the river.
Rooms were a bit dusty. Food at mealtimes wasn't always refilled. Lavender smell in the outdoor onsen was nice but would prefer the natural odour and colour of onsen. Also quite small. No radio exercises in the morning that was advertised.
