Staff was friendly and helpful.

The door to the room was a bit difficult to open at times and the rooms aren't sound proof so you can hear babies crying down the hall, the cars driving by, or people walking past your room if you got a private room. There was also no light for the rooftop outdoor seating area, or it wasn't obvious if there was a button for lighting. When I went there were two other guest just sitting in the dark outside.

The terrace on the last floor offers an amazing view on the sea. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower were clean and spacious. There is a bus stop right in front of the hostel which is quite convenient as it is a bit far away from Shimonoseki main station very peaceful area

I especially like the kitchen/balcony with a view! The staff were friendly and responsive. Common areas were kept clean always. Excellent location also for exploring Kanmon area! Karato wharf and Kanmon tunnel were the highlights.

Nice location to explore the area, though you might need to ride a bus to get there. Really liked the roof terrace.

The bed was pretty noisy and uncomfortable, but I ended up getting used to it.

A new clean place with friendly and helpful personnel. There was an amazing view on Akama Shrine from my dorm room, and sea & Kyushu’s view from the cafe and roof terrace. About 10 min walk to the famous undersea tunnel between the Honshu & Kyushu islands and 10 min walk to the center (fish market, all the cafes and restaurants). Two minutes walk to the left there is a rental kimono shop - Chikageten - where I was dressed in a blue yukata by a professional kimono sensei and then walked around to collect compliments from locals😆😭👘

A perfect place to feel comfortable and meet nice people. I really loved that there were many places where you could relax, a nice kitchen where you can cook and a beautiful terrace with the sea view. I would come back without hesitation.

There was a roof terrace which provided great views of sunset. The place was really clean and well maintained too. A short walk to Karato Fish Market.

Could do with a few more bathroom showering stalls.

The Japanese-style room was very clean and the futons were very comfortable. Even though we arrived quite late, the staff were extremely friendly, and even recommended some local restaurants.
