Located near the bus terminal, luggage can be stored near the bus terminal or the nearby gako/school museum if you arrive early like i did. Host is friendly and gave me multiple local pointers like restaurants. Bed is clean and comfortable , the rooms are also well insulated and warm. This guesthouse offers everything a traveler would need. There are also multiple eateries and convenience stores within walking distance and local attractions can be reached by foot. Note to travelers: hagi loop busses do not show up on google map.

No lockers/ your luggage cupboard do not have locks

Such a great stay at Ruco! The staff greeted us with a smile and helped us with restaurant recommendations. The family room was very spacious for 2 people and 2 large suitcases. The general amenity was great and the shower pressure was even better!

Just note the rooms are up at least two flights of small stairs if you have large suitcases

Value for money, the availability of a kitchen. The share bathroom and toilets were very clean. Parking was reasonable at 500 yen a night.

The stairs were very steep and not so great for young children and older folks (and maybe people with bad knees). The room could have been cleaner. The doors to my room were wood and paper, and the lock and the mechanical catch were rather flimsy.

Excellent place. One of the best guest houses I have stayed in. The staff is excellent and are so helpful. Shio san, Sho san and Aki san are all fantastic and cannot recommend their service high enough. They weren’t only great guys but have now become great friends. I recommend this as the best place to stay Hagi and in Japan. Great furniture, great design, lovely open spaces to hang out. Dormitory is a good size and the single rooms are spacious.

Nothing, I extended my stay as I loved the place.

The entire space is beautifully and tastefully decorated, it looked like the owner had paid attention to every corner to make sure it was neat, comfortable, and beautiful. The showers had soap and shampoo. Our room was also fantastic and, similar to the rest of the space, it was clean as a whistle, elegant, and open to the outdoors. We also walked from Ruco to everywhere we wanted to visit in Hagi.

Guests should remember that this a guest house so you will be able to hear other guests as they come and go.

Exceptionally clean! Great atmosphere and location. The owner is very helpful and had helped me a lot when I was lost. The train lines were cancelled due to the weather, he guided me here. Location is near the bus centre so it’s very convenient.

Nothing to complain about.

Ruco and the owner’s hospitality are such a gem in Hagi. Their renovation is so nicely done, with aesthetics, and warmth and traditional housing style well kept. It’s walking distance to everything you need to see in Hagi - and to the beach as well. Also it’s very close to the bus terminal which goes other cities in and out of Yamaguchi. Owner is such a friendly and helping spirit, he cared a lot about guests’ comfort. Thank you :)

Designed so carefully with beautiful touches and still and Japanese feel. Location half way between Higashi Hagi train station and the old castle town. Kitchen had many seasonings, two common rooms, helpful owner with personal recommendations for food and clean bathrooms and dorm.
