The Location is in the heart of Lamu Old Town. The owner Arnold picks you up at the Jetti since it is hard to find relying on google maps the first time ;-) He provides you with all the important informations and is very helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The washrooms are very simple but with everything you need. I myself had a room with an external ( private) bathroom, which was fine! The rooftop is very spacious and nice to hang out & meet other travelers. It is a very good vibe in the Jambo House. The breakfast was amazing. You get coffee, a fresh juice and some fruits. You can choose between some options how you want to eat your eggs, which comes with toast and butter. I really loved my stay at Jambo house and hope to be back at one day...

The location is great, I chose this Hotel because it was the cheapest I found and I didn’t expect such a nice place. Great breakfast, nice rooftop and really nice owner

It‘s far from Sheila beach, so you need to decide if you want beach everyday in front of your Hotel or if you want to stay at Lamu. Sheila area is almost double the price with food and hotel compared to Lamu. You can go by Boda or Boat, but in the night when the water is high only Boat is available and it is expensive.

The in-house breakfast is tasty, great variety and value for money. Very relaxing and cooling roof terrace on hot days. There is laundry service in the property. Owner is very responsive.

A bit noisy early in the morning and night even though we had shut the window. Poor ventilation in the bathroom. The padlock to the external bathroom is not working, the owner had oiled it but still not not working, we are fine without a padlock as other rooms seem to have attached bathroom... Make sure you try before locking it.

Jambo house is easy to get to from the main road and seaside but also tucked away from the noisy centre. Anyone can give directions to help you get there but the owner can also arrange for you to get picked up for comodity. The house is really pretty, with an incredible veranda that gives on the sea and the hills. Really beautiful and relaxing. You can see that all details are well cared for. The owner knows everything and is really really helpful giving directions, very polite and accomodating, I was happy and grateful for his useful suggestions about getting around, food, activities and all necessities. Breakfast was really delicious too, best fresh juice and french toast made from scratch by Fred. Very recommended, you won't be disappointed!

It is right in the middle of Lamu old town so you are very much immeresed in it. Arnold will give you all the information you need and the best of guides in town. Do not miss the tour of Lamu! It was great! Breakfast is wonderful and I loved the rooftop

The property is fine. It’s a budget place so nothing fancy. Be prepared to actually libe inside Lamu, it’s a friendlybplace but a bit intense😀

The highlight of our stat in Jambo House is Arnold, its owner. He is doing a great job, responds quickly, provides airport pickup, shares a map with all the useful tips and nice places to eat and is at your service if you need to book any kind of trip around Lamu. Furthermore, the breakfast here are lovely and for a bargain price, so definitely don't miss out on them ! In the room, we had all we needed, and it was very quiet, so we slept very well! We will be back!

●Arnold the host is warm welcoming and super helpful.Once you arrive in Lamu he sends someone to pick you up from the airport and carries your luggage upto the House.The inside of the house is well lit and clean.On the walls of the premises there are some really helpful information spread out.Arnold hands you a map when you are having a welcoming drink at the terrace and shares with you helpful information about where to enjoy a night out,best meals at affordable prices and the best places you can have all your meals from breakfast,lunch and dinner that is if you dont want the breakfast offered at Jambo House which I highly recommmend.He plans and facilitates with locals for you the most value for money activities you can pertake while on your vaccation e.g he organised sunset dhow,snorkelling,takwa ruins,old Swahili town tour and Shela sand dunes sunset walk for me and other guests who were staying at Jambo house at the time.✅️ ●The Cleanliness of Jambohouse is top-notch.There are no foul smells inside the room and the bathroom area is clean and organised.✅️ ●Rooms: The rooms are big enough,well-lit and have two fans,wall fan and side bed fans incase it gets really hot.✅️ ●Beddings,towels and Room Cleaning: The beddings and towels are changed on a daily basis unless the guest advices otherwise. ●Trash bin is place inside the room so that you do not litter anywhere in the house.✅️ ●Beds-the beds and pillows are comfortable to enable you to have a goodnight sleep.✅️ ●The terrace-this is where magic happens especially if you want to read a good book and catch the sunset and also you are able to have a beautiful view of Lamu town at a glance.✅️ ●Staff: Arnold has one staff called Daniel who is friendly and helps out the guests.He will also accompany you and carry your luggage to the jetty once your vaccation comes to an end.✅️ ●Arnold the owner/Host of Jambo House is good vibes and Inshallah!Thank you sir for enabling me to have my best vaccation yet in Lamu.

To be honest everything was in place and even surpassed my expectations. That my vaccation ended so soon.

The breakfast options for different days during my stay were great and filling. The host, Arnold, has a really good lens and grasp of the town. I arrived without an itinerary or idea of activities but with all the information he provided, I was able to create a packed, incredible 5 day plan. This was extremely helpful. The staff were also warm, friendly and very helpful. I liked the location in Old Town, close to the life & buzz of the town. This provided a good experience of the culture and food from the many restaurants available, I was unable to exhaust trying out all the food!! The rooftop balcony of Jambo House was a great place to relax, watching the stars at night and catching the sunrise in the morning.

The drainage of the shower I used could be improved.

Amazing budget spot for traveling in Lamu! Arnold was extremely helpful - we booked a sunset cruise through him and it was perfect. Breakfast was excellent. The rooftop was amazing. We had fans in the room. The best coffee shops on the island are pretty close by. Overall, wonderful stay!

Even though there were fans in the room, it did get a bit toasty at night!

Arnold is superhost, knowledgable, reliable and will make your holiday just perfect. I suggest takling breakfast there too, its nice and comfy to eat there. Lamu has a lot to offer and its amazing place for holiday, authentic and special. We loved our stay, locatipon is great too!!!!
