Good value for money. Tasty breakfast. Great location for rest/overnight stay for car travelers. I stopped there on my way from Finland to Croatia and also on my way back. P.S. For those who are interested, the itinerary was as follows: Day one: Car trip to Helsinki, Helsinki-Tallinn ferry, Cartrip: Tallinn-Bauska; Day Two: Bauska (Lat)-Rawa Mazowecka (PL); Day Three: Rawa Mazowecka (PL) -Ilz (A); Day Four: Ilz (A) - Split (CRO) 3nights; 1st day : ca 450 km; 2nd -ca 750-800km, 3d - ca 800km; 4th: 600km. Exceptionally enjoyable trip. Warmly recommend. Accommodation in Rija Bauska Hotel(and hotels in Rawa Mazowecka & Ilz) served me a lot

The shower worked well. The water mostly stayed inside the shower and not on the floor of the bathroom. There was an electric outlet at the desk for my computer.

I couldn't figure out how to turn on two of the lights in the room, so I had to leave the overhead light on while reading and get up to turn it off at the door as I was falling asleep. I'm used to the friendliness of hostel employees. This was a hotel, and the employees were very businesslike. I'm also used to having access to a microwave in hostels. In hotels this convenience doesn't exist. I had to eat sandwiches instead of hot meals.

Ive been to quite a few hotels and hostels around Latvia and with a price of 40 euros I wasnt expecting that much but I was wrong. The place is clean, very nice and well lit. The staff spoke very good english and were very helpful. The room had everything from from boiling cettles to showegels, not to mention slippers and towels... Hell, even the toilet paper was even three ply! Breakfast was great (sausages, pancakes and salad selection) these pancakes were awesome! I'd highly recommend this place who is looking to stay in Bauska! Paldies!

Everything went very well. We stayed only for one night, arrived late and left rather early. The room was quite large. Bauska is a small town, so the location is great. Breakfast was good and plentiful, maybe a bit too many fats. WiFi good, parking place just in front of the hotel. Don't miss the local beer, there's a shop near the big roundabout.

No complaints whatsoever. Hard to imagine something better in such a small town.

The staff was very friendly. I arrived very late at night, wet cold and tired, after having a mechanical problem on the road. And I was received very warmly in spite of the hour. Throughout my unexpected 2 day stay in Bausca the staff was helpful. The hotel itself is very nice, good breakfast, well located (next to bus station and across the street from a supermarket, close to the castle and the center.

Better pillows

Breakfast was unexpectedly good. A little banquet with the mayonnaise vegetable salads with some kind of meat. The eggs were just okay. There were blinzes. and the room and food were only $30. This is a Soviet Era hotel that was modeled after the Holiday Inns but more quirky. There was the red floral carpeting and the odd wallpaper. I felt like I was on a movie set from East Germany before the wall came down. These countries are incredible bargains. A "small" dinner was enough for two and only $12 with a beer and soup!

A ventilaton system that was not air conditioning. With the window opened there were bugs.

Location was perfect, right next to the bus station and the venue I was performing at was really close too. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was working very well. Really good value for the money.

There were only a couple of issues: The light right next to my bed wasn't working (I wanted to read a bit at night) and I could figure out how to put the heater on. Hopefully next time it's fixed.

Clean room, very comfortable beds with functional design (e.g. bed lights nicely placed). Very good breakfast with both cooked and cold food. Close to the main road but still quiet.

In the bathroom, the shower area and the tap could be cleaned of scale deposits. The. breakfast only opens at 08:00, a little late for travellers.

Nice restaurant, very friendly staff with good english skills & helpful attitude. Pet friendly place. Room was basic, beds ok. Parking place and is a bonus. Rimi shop is very close.

Couldnt get warm water from shower. We had some garbage in the room at the floor & in the bin.

Breakfast was good. Compact but still a good choice and tasty. The restaurant was excellent and the room size was great.

The curtains were pretty much non existant and the fact that you cant open windows makes for a very poor experience when the first Light starts shining into the room. Hot as hell too. Really ugly flooring choices.
