The historic building is lovely and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Super clean and comfortable. Convenient parking.

Unfortunately, the hotel is located between Soviet apartment buildings, a car repair shop, and what looked to be a sports field. There didn't appear to be any access to the lovely river just across the field. TV channels mostly in German.

We stayed at Virkas Manor for two nights, and we totally loved this place! :) The building is very beautiful from outside and equally wonderful from inside, it has a very nice and romantic vibe. We absolutely loved the antique secretary that we could open and use for some computer work. Everything was exceptionally clean. The staff was very welcoming and nice. We would definitely stay here again, and suggest this place for others too! :)

Rooms don't have very good sound isolation, so if you have noisy neighbors you might hear them. However, this is a very typical problem for historical buildings, so we were not surprised.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood a bit further away from the main attractions, Virkas muiža offers quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are stylish and very cozy. One could spend quite some time working on their Instagram feed there. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful - we truly felt like guests in a private mansion and it all thanks to the team. The breakfast was great too, the selection is more interesting than a conventional continental breakfast. There is also outdoor seating and BBQ in the backyard, as well as some hammocks in front of the building. We noticed also some board games on the shelves in the lobby, so there are definitely ways to pass some time without leaving the premises.

I'm not that sold on the transparent bathroom wall, it kinda pushes you move your relationship to a whole new level. But again, that's a personal preference.

Hotel is a hidden gem, specially if you stay indoors or have windows not facing the big apartment buildings next door. Rooms are large, beds comfortable. Good for a holiday as there was no working corner in the room. City is a 10-15 minutes walking distance.

Don't be scared about the surrounding big apartment buildings as the hotel still maintains all the qualities of a manor house.

The hotel has a very nice and thematic design - it suits and works very well. From our experience it could be a great option for family staying, as it has terrace and green zones. About rooms. We hade 2 economic triple rooms with common bathroom. As we booked both rooms, we actually got extra space in the hallway area, and bathroom that was private for those two rooms together. So our thanks to the hotel for this option!! Although the bathroom by itself was outdated from several perspectives, not the best ones. The third room we had so called "attic room" that actually was the most expensive in our reservation, but has not much place, and about a half of it you could "enjoy" only by heads bowed low. Glassed shower and (!) toilet was a little bit confusing. And no - there were no curtain or any "closed-eyes"option. At least we did not find any. Although shower in this design is romantic in a way - toilet is not... :) But in all rooms everything was very clean and beds were comfy! Staff was friendly. We did not booked breakfast as we did not sympathized reviews in Booking - so we do not have any opinion about that. We also did not use Wi-Fi, so also - no opinion. Location is a little bit far from center, but in the summer a great small walk. For enjoying the weather and walking time together - it suited very well. Design of the hotel - very beautiful! Overall - all rooms were clean and totally appropriate for the price! Is they appropriate for 4 stars? - more like not. But we are not the ones for judging that. :)

Glassed wall for the toilet in the attic room - just in the front of the armchair. A little oldish bathroom for triple economic rooms - not working well with all other beautiful deign of the hotel. And that's all. Everything else was nice. :)

Very beautiful building with antique furniture, and very friendly and welcoming staff. Very tasty breakfast. We felt very welcome, thank you!

The hotel is located a bit out of the center and surrounded by block buildings which is bit of a minus for the overall "manor" feeling. Very, very thin walls - we could hear every word spoken in the room next door. Neighbors got up before 7 on Saturday morning and the guy had a very looong phone conversation with someone - you could even hear a mumbling noise of the other person replying over the phone. The next morning they got up at 5 to get ready, speaking and listening to music. Our room was a bit overcrowded with furniture - having only one armchair instead of two less and a smaller coffee table would improve the room in my opinion.

The interior looked amazing. We had a smaller room and it had a front corridor so we wouldn't hear the main corridor that leads to the rooms. it was pretty nice ☀️

The road to the hotel is getting fixed, but as of 2022 December it's a drit road with a million potholes. The hotel itself is in the middle of apartment buildings.

The staff were great and were very helpful. There was a mix up with the rooms but the hotel was very apologetic and offered a free breakfast instead which I thought was nice.

The property itself is tucked away in an interesting location with old apparent blocks and that is not what you expect - especially given that the rooms cost a bit over the average amount.

Perfectly clean, comfortable, and the staff was excelent - best I have ever seen.

Breakfest was not included. We paid additional 14 euros each for breakfest, and it was mediocare at best. Food was cold, there where not enough plates and glasses and even forks. I would advise to skip the brekfest if its not included, and go have brakfest in to town.

The lady on night duty who checked us in ( dark hair) was outstanding and incredibly friendly and attentive. I run a hotel in London and my boyfriend and I both agreed that she has the perfect character for front of house and is a wonderful asset to your hotel (I would hire her in an instant if she ever came to London!!!!)

The water-pressure of the shower was not the best.
