This is a very stylish hotel and restaurant, located by the main valley road (but it was never too loud) between Mavrovo and Debar. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The restaurant downstair was one of the best in Mavrovo region, serving traditional Macedonian food (excellent grill and vegetarian dishes) . Jovan Bogorski monastery is just around the corner and Duf waterfalls are not far from there. You can by some local products such as honey in the restaurant. And the hosts were exceptional, organizing on the spot my daughters small birthday party. Definitely recommended!
Parking might become a bit crowdy during the day on the weekends - but do not worry in the afternoon it all clears out.

The hotel is in a most beautiful mountain location right below the impressive monastery of St.Jovan Bigorsky, a treasure of historical, cultural, and religious significance The Hotel,'s traditional architecture and furnishings adds to the charm and the outdoor covered dining area with forest views along the river Radika are ideal for relaxing with a nice meal. The perfect place for a peaceful and stress free experience with classic Macedonian hospitality in the scenic Mavrovo National Park. A bonus is the nearby village of Rostushe and a pleasant hike to the Duf Waterfall. Highly recommended 👍
Everything was great.

The property is aesthetically beautiful and well located. There is good access to the surrounding towns, Bigorski Monastery and Mavrovo National Park. The food was fresh particularly at dinner with a variety of delicious dishes. Service was extraordinarily good. Dimitar, Nikola, and Alexandra worked very hard to provide the wonderful experience we had during our stay.
My only criticism I have to offer is that the breakfast service is abut confusing because the dinner/lunch menu is used. There is no fruit or other standard items. Hotel management should consider offering a breakfast buffet.

The people who work there are the most generous and thoughtful. They will help with every request and do an awesome job of making you feel welcome. Our son (1,5y) also had a great time because of all the cuddles and playfulness of the staff.
The food and rooms are more expensive than the rest of the area. Even though it is also a Miyaks museum the focus is mainly the restaurant (where you can also sleep). We were here in high season and the terras was almost full from 10-17.

A beautiful restored historic building in a fabulous location. Food was traditional and very good.
The bed was very uncomfortable (mattress was very thin). Our room are sold as having a mountain view which technically it did but the window was very small and low so it was hard to see any view. However the view from the hotel terraces are fantastic so it didn’t really matter.

Really clean and comfortable with a good price / value (the price is a bit higher then other places but there are some unique things that you wouldn’t see, do, try anywhere else). Staff: we got checked in by Atanas, who was really helpful with our bags and telling us about the history. The waiter rushed to give my partner a blanket once he saw she was cold (that we were happy to settle with a generous tip). Atanas and his colleagues helped us start the car up (we had an ignition problem). Few of many examples that the staff will go out of their way to welcome you. Facilities: The room: the mattress, the beds, the bathroom had everything we expected and the room was set in the Myak way (though with the comforts of the modern world, like a fridge), which was so culturally refreshing and fun. Food: “Kjain’s desire” desert (in Macedonian “Ќаин мерак”) and loads of other unique delicious Myak meals. Location: If you are going to Struga or Ohrid, you should definitely think about staying here and dive into the world of another subculture (Myaks were living in the west Macedonia and part of what now is Albania and had their own customs, food, ways..). I would definitely recommend coming here for couple of days if you are up for relaxing in the great green lush mountain nature, different delicious food, less people (more peace), visiting one of the biggest and most important monasteries in the world, if it is fun for you to join the 5:30am :) monastery liturgy monk byzantine chanting, discover their self-sufficient ways and the ways to help others, mountain hikes, e.t.c. I seldom give a 10, because i believe the item should be outstanding, but at this place even the small non-important challenges are not that many. Also, any money you spend in this place, go towards retaining people in these villages and preventing the village -> city migration.
Facilities: the water in the shower was being flushed in the drain slowly. Perhaps this is something that could be improved. Nothing really!

The food was fantastic, and the staff were very kind and pleasent. The rooms were very clean, they are small but they had everything you need. The bath was very new and clean also. The view from the room is magical, especially if it's snowing outside.
The only thing i would change are the bed pillows, they are too small and i my back and neck were sore after my sleep.

Beautiful location, good and clean room, wonderful food and good value for money!
When we arrived, the restaurant was busy. There was no real check-in, just a busy waitress bringing us to our room without any explanation as to breakfast times etc. But not a big problem for us.
