Mon Choisy Beach R.

Everything was fantastic except the mosquitos. Also hotel next door had happy hour every day and good music so didn't need to drive there.

I've been to mauritius more than 6 times and have never experienced so many mozzies. May also have to do that neighbours plants and trees are overgrown and it seems house is run down and no one lives there.

It was easy to arrive to the parking lot in front of the hotel. The garden is a beatiful well-kept tropical garden that leads to a swimming pool, that comes with a beatiful view to the ocean. There is a door by the poolside that leads to the ocean shore and can be opened with the hotel key-card. The breakfast is minimal, but it was delicious. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is spacious and clean, the staff is very helpful.

The doors include security locking features, so it's almost impossible to close them silently. During the night it the door were slammed by other guests, so a couple of times it was uncomfortable to wake up to it.

- very clean rooms and pool area. - we had the sea view room - the view was lovely. - adequate kitchen for self-catering. We made omelets / scrambled eggs ourselves. - in July sunbeds available at all times. - a very peaceful and quiet pool area. (I have active children, so I was a bit worried that they caused too much noise..., however, nobody complained, most were wearing head phones) - the breakfast - though a bit pricey - was nice with the following for per person: coffee/tea; croissant, pain au chocolate, white bread with jam and butter, yogurt, fruit bowl. What you do not get is any kind of warm food (e.g. eggs, pancakes, bacon) nor cheese / cold cut meat. You can order it for 8-10 am. We requested to have it earlier, e.g. 7.30, which could not be accommodated. However, we actually got it at 07.40.

- the location was not 100% optimal for our needs. I should have done a bit more research. 1) As it gets dark early and we did not have a car, we ended up eating twice in the restaurant at the hotel next door (Mystik) and brought pizza home once. We could have ordered a taxi of course, but our preference would have been to look at several restaurants and then make a choice. We did not feel safe to walk on the side of the road with no street lights and no actual sidewalk. 2) No grocery store nearby. Closest 2 km away. I am ok to walk that distance, but not at night (it gets dark by 6.30 pm). Close by a very poorly equipped, quite strange store. 3) the Mont Choisy beach has a dedicated swimming area marked by ropes and you cannot snorkel around as there is boat traffic.

A very nice accommodation with friendly staff. We loved to wake up with the wonderfull and vigorous sound of the birds. The non-rocky beach section is just around the corner and it's very beautiful.

We asked for the sheets to be changed as they had stains on them. Stupidly, the new bed sheet had stains as well. Something like this should not really happen...

Very nice location near two beautiful beaches. Nice pool with a view. New buildings with aesthetic rooms. Beautiful and well maintained garden. Kitchenette well equipped. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Comfortable bed. Also coffee machine available, what I find very good. Water and some basic snacks are available to be bought on the reception.

unfortunately near the premises there was no grocery or a small store. Also availability of restaurants is very limited. It’s recommended to have a car available or take bus. Bus station is near. Intercontinental breakfast offered on site, for additional charge, is nice but very basic. Hard to imagine for me to eat it few days in the row. 2-3 options could be offered.

The staff were really helpful and met all of my needs. They helped to recommend activities in the local area and changed my room due to noise issues.

There was no restaurant in the hotel. There is one in the property (Mystik) next door, yet this is very expensive. If you are not renting a car, it can be quite pricey to take taxis as there are not many other restaurants nearby.

The view and the pool area is amazing! People are extremely friendly. We loved the place.

The only problem is that rooms are a bit noisy due to lack of sound insulation.

that there was no complimentary daily water replenishment. you have to buy which I felt was beneath mon choisy BR. especially considering there is no accessible supermarket around. also they can include some food menu delivery options for their guests as there are no easily accessible restaurants. tv channels are very limited and all in french. room cleaning could be better.

-Location is amazing with few minutes walk along the beach you get to the Mon Choisy (in my opinion best beach I’ve seen in Mauritius). It is also an ideal location to visit northern part of Mauritius and Port Louis. - We stayed in the room with ocean view which was so worth it. -Very helpful and friendly staff -Parking on site

No restaurant in the hotel however plenty of options within 5-10 mins drive (if you have a car) or using the restaurant in hotel next door. Also there’s food truck next to the hotel at the entrance of Mon Choisy beach which we tried and the food was really good.

I liked the location, the bed, the shower was large. The pool is great, very clean and maintained. The view is great. The beach of mon choisy is really close, it starts just at the hotel, and then you have the whole beach in front of you. The room is spaceus, we liked the baggage rack, confy bed, and the possibility to use the pool after checkout and also have a bathroom with a shower at our disposal.

It would be great to have some more pots and pans of different sizes, you get only 1 large pot and 1 pan... instead of the oversize coffe machine there could be a small countertop oven, way more useful, but other than that the kitchen supplies are ok. There is a microwave. The cleaning is 8/10. There is some room for improvement. For example there was a cleanig sponge in the room, which has seen better days which the friendly cleaning lady used, we bought a new one because we didn't want our plates cleaned with that. We also missed some more places to dry our towels. But for the price it's all good. We were happy and would return.
