Have stayed here several times, the internet can be spotty at times so if you're on business and have need for consistency in connection it could be an issue. The location is perfect for us, half way between our home in Mexico and where we travel to in Texas. The restaurant has good food both for supper and breakfast and there is a nice walking/biking trail located on the property if you want to get some exercise.

See note above about internet, although since it was traveling for pleasure not really an issue for us.

This resort is, in reality, much nicer and attractive than the internet photos reveal. The very large property is entirely closed in by fencing with cobble stone streets leading to the various blocks of single story rooms, reception, poos and restaurant. The Midway employs many uniformed staff who are very open to question and offering assistance. All rooms are air conditioned and the windows open for after dark cool air. The rooms (we had 2) are clean and comfortable. Most important for us, the entire resort is dog friendly which was the main reason for our selecting the resort. By the way, there is a Walmart store roughly across the street from the resort.

The only shortcoming was the internet. My room was located in a block of rooms located farthest away from the router location in the lobby/restaurant. The staff happily moved me to a closer room which gave me internet access but not very strong. I suggest when making the reservation request the block of rooms which is just across from the swimming pool. My suggestion to the Midway Resort is to install repeater routers throughout the property to ensure internet service.

The restaurant was very good, good selection & extremely attentive service. All the wait staff are men dressed in red jackets, nice touch. There is defiantly pride in ownership of this property, it may be an old established hotel/motel but it is very well kept, clean & everything is looked after. The front desk staff are very professional. I really enjoyed my evening stroll after dinner Thru the property.

It can be a little challenging to get into the parking lot, either a U-turn is necessary (over the bridge, under a small opening to get yourself turned around) or I recommend take the 57D highway, pass the hotel zona & allow your GPS to pass the hotel & backtrack you to the proper side of the Carraterra, so entrance is easier.

Room was well sized and the air-conditioned was great. Also enjoyed the pool.

The restaurant food was just ok, nothing really impressive. We did really like the mineral water lemonade though. Getting the attention of the wait staff to get the check was a bit of a challenge at times. Could have used a microwave in the room.

Such a delightful place: the modernist bungalows are situated around a park-like setting. Our room had its own carport next to our door - easy to load and unload our car. They welcome pets and our doggie loved the grounds for walks with us. The onsite restaurant had good international food, and we loved sitting out by the pool for dinner.

After staying in large corporate hotels the past week, the lovely grounds overcame any small deficiencies on upkeep.

I love all the gras for walking my dog & the restaurant is always good.

The rooms for people with pets DID NOT HAVE A REFRIGERATOR, which I specifically requested due to needing to refrigerate medication & food. All they could offer was use of a refrigerator in lobby which I was not going to use in the middle of the night. Room also much (about 50%) smaller than other rooms at the same price.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Large green area for our dogs. The pool was big deep and refreshingly cool, unlike the overheated bathwater pools I've encountered. We felt very safe.We had a carport that was adjacent to our door and there is security. I could've stayed there for a week or more.

I would've liked a small fridge in the room.

2nd time staying here. Had a MUCH larger & more comfortable room & beds were MUCH more comfortable! The grounds are just beautiful & all the staff are super sweet. Restauant is darn good, both for dinner & breakfast. This is now my go to place when I come through Matehuala. Everything was perfect, from the guy who takes his bicycle to show you where your room is & helped bring luggage in, to the staff at the concierge desk. Very helpful & very typically Mexico.

The steps into the room or into the office / restaurant. I had a really bad fall earlier in the day & hurt my knee badly. The steps were hard to navigate. But ordinarily this isn't an issue - it's just not handicapped accessible in general.

We have stayed at Las Palmas at least a half-dozen times over the years with our pets. It is like my favorite pair of jeans. A little dated, maybe frayed around the edges, but comfortable, clean, and secure. The on-site restaurant is always good, the rooms are quiet, and you can park next to or in front of your room. There is a large area to walk your pets.

The beds are a little firm for me, but comfortable.

The staff are very friendly and so helpful. They always greet you with smiles. We have stayed there 3 times and have always had great service. They have a very nice pool to cool you off.

The internet is ok but you only get CNN in English which is a very fuzzy station but the other channels help you learn your Spanish
