Such a unique and authentic experience with Hamid at this hotel. I felt very much at home and extremely relaxed. The location is great and his guides are picturesque and comprehensive: he organises transport, lunch and gives some great information about the locals. Hamid knows everyone around here!

Not a complaint but definitely advice: oh my god, please don't forget to bring cash. It is in the mountains! It's remote! I messed up the exchange rate and had to go to two towns over for an atm.

Had the most authentic experience here with Hamid, we visited Agafay desert and done a quad bike tour for 2 hours and also rode a camel. We hiked the park National, and he also showed us a local hike around his area. His Tagines are something I’ll miss, the food here has been amazing and believe me you never go hungry! Hamid was also very helpful with taxis, no matter the time of day he will have someone there for a cheaper price than normal taxi. If you’re wanting to experience a real Berber stay, this is the place to come!!!

I didn’t stay longer! :(

Hamid our host was a star, he was very attentive. Served the best Moroccan Whisky welcome of our trip across the country. He was kind enough to cook us an authentic Berber tagine and a hearty Moroccan breakfast. Fantastic budget accommodation, particularly good for people who enjoy hiking and trekking with the location bring near the foot of Morocco's highest peak, Toubkal. Hamid also offers guided treks of up to 5 days through the mountains.

A little cold at night in the winter, and really dusty so not the best place to dry laundry. The steps up to the house are "rustic" so a bit uneven, definitely only for the fit and able bodied. Not Hamid's fault but the road in from Asni is also rough following the 2023 earthquake, and currently in the process of being improved.

The house is very nice, peaceful and tranquil. Opposite is a nice stream. The bedrooms are very comfortable. There is hot water for a shower. Hamid is incredibly hospitable, warm and friendly. He helped us organise a taxi. His wife is an excellent cook. The food prepared in the evening is beautiful, we had two tagines and they were both lovely. Busses come past semi-frequently and can take you into the nearest town (La Vallée de Imlil) which is a great place for hiking. The local bus is 10 Dirams.

Nothing not to like. It is very homly. You feel as though you are quite immersed in the local culture. We came from Marrakesh and it was great to have a break from the busy city

This was one of our best family holidays - we stayed with Hamid and Mina for 10 days and did so much. Hamid really looked after us and arranged trips to suit our needs via taxi, bus, camel and mule. He explained how we could use shared taxis with local people too, which kept our costs low. When the locals spotted us out and about they would yell to each other that we were staying with Hamid, and they too kept us right. There is so much to say...the scenery was spectacular, stunning views of the Atlas range everywhere we went, we visited waterfalls, the desert, souks, Berber villages, Marrakech, and also sat and read books and played games whilst watching the world go by outside Hamid's house. Mina kept us well fed with huge breakfast and dinner spreads and packed lunches some days. We will definitely be going back if they will have us...Hamid can arrange other trips and after seeing some of the more remote villages we are keen to trek between them and stay the night. There is something for everyone here, my 9 year old joined in the treks and rides, but we also had lots of fun squeezing onto busy buses and hitching rides with berbers carrying a van load of tagines!!! It is worth spending time here, away from the tourist throngs elsewhere. Enjoy!

Hamid and Mina grossly undercharge for what they give, their generosity makes the rest of us look terrible! ;)

Hamid leads a wonderful little hostel by the side of the road, the river and the mountains. As soon as I rang, he immediately knew who I was, showed me the room and invited me for tea. He was very helpful and attentive, and I think because of this the other guests whom I talked with were very relaxed and kind too. Now I'm sitting at breakfast, it's delicuous and plentiful. So I can only recommend. Saved me from the cold! :)

Hamid is an exceptional host with a truly warm heart. Arriving to Dar Imoughlad was easy because he took care of everything. Dinners were among the best ones we have had so far. We like to hike on our own, so Hamid gave us good tips where to go. Rooms are clean and shower is warm. It's not a luxurious place in a traditional way, but in our opinion what Hamid is offering is the true luxury in life.

I can not understand some negative reviewers like Salim. If you are looking for a luxury resort there are surely other options. But if you are a hiker looking for an authentic experience in a homestay with an incredibly hospitable family this is the place for you. Hamid was super helpful showing is some nice dayhikes around the area. A guide is not needed for that by the way but rather kind of a rip off that is offered as obligatory. Hamid is a proud Berber man you can trust completely which is not always easy to find in Morocco. His wife made us some of the best Tajine we had on our trip so I would highly recommend to enjoy dinner there as well as the nice plentiful breakfast. They are still building out the Terasse on top of the Building but you can already enjoy a nice view over the valley and catch the last rays of sunlight there. All in all highly recommended!
