The uniqueness of this ground floor, 500 year old tower room made up for sleeping as a family of four in an open space with no privacy. The location in the old city wall so close to the city center was great. The shower and WC facilities are a beautifully modern contrast to the still crumbling walls with their gun slits.

You can't just show up early here, like in a hotel. And with multiple floor levels, you have to be careful not to stub your toes at night. But that's no big deal for such a unique experience.

Quirky but interesting place to stay. In an old tower overlooking a canal. Chic modern interior design in an old property. Spacious, comfortable and good all round views if you go up to the top of the tower outside. Very helpful guy waiting for us to arrive and introduce us to the facilities and area. Parking very close at a small cost.

It was a great place to stay. No breakfast on site or parking but all close. Need to be able to cope with a spiral staircase. These are not negatives just useful info.

Very good communication prior to and at arrival. Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. Fascinating building. The rooftop terrace is great (though a bit chilly for the time of year I was there!). The breakfast arrangement with a nearby cafe works very well and the food and service are excellent.

If you are traveler with mobility problems then be aware that apart from one room on the ground floor, access is via a steep, narrow, circular staircase (it is a mediaeval tower after all). This was not a problem for me but is worth keeping in mind.

The apartment is in an historic building, part of the old walls of the city. It's been beautifully adapted to accommodation, with very cool decor. Go up the stairs of the tower to find a lovely terrace. Very well located. Very comfortable. Helpful and friendly hosts. For bike tourers, there is a free parking facility just up the street. I think it was locked at about 6pm. Loved it.

The suite is very historic, with original rough stones and huge wooden beams. The circular shape reminds you continuously that you are in the ancient fortress tower. All amenities are modern, excellent bathroom, and a pleasant design of the bed and furnature. The location is in the old town, cannot be better, nice restaurants, the famous bookshop and the market all on a few minutes walking distance. Highly recommended, especially if you like character!

Stayed here 3 times now. Ideal for visiting Zwolle centre and De Librije (10 minute walking distance). Very spacious rooms, situated in a tower of the old citywall. No breakfast available in the room itself, but that is never a problem for us, as breakfast posibilities are numerous and close by. Make sure you can climb the stairs to to chamber, no elevator available. Will definitly come here again.

The venue is absolutely lovely an pictoresque! You will sleep in an old tower very nicely decotared and in the city centre of Zwolle. There is also a rooftop terrace where you can enjoy a very nice view of the city (if weather allows!).

The room is beauitful but does not offer much privacy - the bathroom is placed behind a wooden wall wih no door for the toilet. Also you can hear every step from above neighbors. But I guess this is the price to sleep in an old tower :)

Very special to stay in an old defense tower. Large room, nicely decorated. Helpful personnel.

No parking, no breakfast included and hard to get heavy luggage up to the room through the windling stairs. None of these are problems really, but good to be aware of when selecting this accomodation.

Beautiful hotel with very helpful check-in staff. Large rooms and amazing roof terrace overlooking river. Got stranded in Zwolle when NS trains failed for the day and I couldn't get home to Amsterdam. Will definitely be coming back for a planned weekend break after staying here!

The atmosphere of the room, the whole historic building, is just exceptional. In comfort stay in such a history-loaded place is very nice. Beds were very comfi, bathroom clean, heating was perfect. Free coffee and tea, and the location cannot be better: in the close vicinity are many nice restaurants, shops etc.
