Everything from being greeted and welcomed at the front desk to leaving the next day. I would recommend The Landing Motel to others. I loved the spa, nice touch in our room,my mum had her own room and she said she was super comfortable and honestly did not want to leave. The hotel teallh made an impression on her. To be honest this was my mums first motel stay and what better location to stay for the first time than at The Landing Motel.

To be honest there was nothing that I didn't like our suite suited my husband and I nicely. Plus its a walk away from everything perfect location. If there was anything to say I didn't like which has nothing to do with The Landing Motel, the road (Landing Road) that the Motel is on is one of the most busiest roads ever. That would be one of the things I didn't like.

We've stayed here before and loved it so stayed again. A last minute booking for us and this place is always clean, tidy, modern and has everything you need for a great stay. Beds are comfy. The new managers are lovely! Location is on the main road out of town but still quiet. Possible to walk into the main town. A 24/7 day and night store is only a few minutes walk away for those late night sugar cravings.

My stay was to visit my husband in a rest home, and being originally from Whakatane, I decided that your motel had always appealed. As it happened, it was away beyond expectations, was a beautiful unit, extremely clean, warm, beds were wonderful, and far and beyond was the lovely lady in reception, she was was awesome!! Would HIGHLY recommend THE LANDING, on Landing Rd, was amazing!

Absolutely nothing in my opinion

Very neat room. At first, it looked like we could have stayed there for a week instead of one night. There was a feeling of luxury. The kitchen even had a dishwasher. It was really clean.

The beds. They look nice but the mattresses were too old. They were soft and caved in to shape other people's bodies. Also when my husband (who is tall and heavy) would lay down next to me, the whole mattress would move and cave. Which means that I would roll next to him or be on an inclined surface. He had to sleep on the edge of the mattress to be confortable also, complaining the he could feels the springs.

Modern.. has all the amenities that you need.. good price.. great location

Just on the sheets was a little dirty not sure what happened.. but you could tell the sheets were clean.. Quality chair.. but so heavy was hard to move it closer to tv

Loved our stay here. Our room was perfect for our whānau. It was tidy & comfortable for my husband & I. Peaceful for our 2 month old baby & the free wifi, hot chocolate & bikkies kept our 9 year old happy & entertained.

Sometimes the wifi connection would run slow but nothing too major as it would pick straight back up after a minute or so.

Does most certainly need a night light in the after hours check in key holder area. pitch dark! The absence of an after hours drop area for leaving a key is problems. we had to check out at 0100 to make a flight in Auckland, but there is no where to leave a key. you cannot leave in the room without leaving door unlocked.

Rooms were large, comfortable and had everything you needed. Only 2km from town and there was no traffic noise. Parking was easy. No stairs to worry about.

During peak times it was difficult to turn right out of the driveway, but that just meant you needed to turn left and double back a little.

The property was exceptionally clean & new looking. Very well appointed rooms. not too small not too big. Comfortable bedding. I really liked how the hosts remembered my name and always addressed me by it. A very nice touch. I thanked the cleaners as I left as they do an amazing job.

nothing really. It was nice. could not hear any road noise despite being close to the road. nothing to complain about.

Love the full fridge freezer. Especially with kids. Handy to keep frozens on longer stays. Lounge area and room was huge, I loved that. Lots of space great for kids to play etc. Room was comfortable and warm. Very clean. Quiet motel in an awesome location would definitely return next time are back in town.
