The property was fantastic. Everything we had hoped for in this historic harbor area. Stylish with utmost homage to its historic roots. The location is perfect. And after a very long, strenuous drive, the greeting and checkin was the best! Huge shout out to Fredrik for his quick response to distressed American travelers in Norway! At 10:15 pm, undaunted by the fact that the dining room closed at 9:30 pm, he rallied the waitstaff to prepare a hearty Norwegian cheese platter, chose a perfect wine to suit my robust nature and seated us in a proper nordic setting. We are ever grateful for the hospitality!

Our only displeasure was the parking situation. While understandable there is no on premise parking, having to “compete” for public parking is a bit stressful. The spaces are small, yet the vehicles are mostly very large. Be sure the rent a small car…

Perfect location! The overnight parking garage is also close by. Book the hot tubs in advance it’s very relaxing. Our room was big it can actually fir four guest, but we appreciated the space for two. So much room for our things. Breakfast was also perfect, and the dining area is spacious, clean and very photogenic :) The lobby has a seating area that is also relaxing you would want to sit there and sip their all-day coffee or hot chocolate.

None. We would stay here again if we find ourselves back in Alesund!

The common areas were exceptional - architecturally striking, warm and welcoming. Always a fire going with coffee and tea available. Excellent breakfast.

Our “sea view” room (#3020) looked straight into the windows of a neighboring building. True, you could see the harbor if you stood in a corner and looked out at an angle. I asked to see another room and while it did look more directly out to the harbor, the only window was about 2 feet square, making the room feel like a cell. It's a historic, renovated factory so I understand the quirky rooms but you should be aware that there is a lot of variety in the rooms and not all of them are great.

I love the concept of having many salons where guests can relax or chill since the room is not very big. We stayed 3 nights, pouring and cold everyday. These salons are very helpful. The location is excellent. The breakfast is superb. The restaurant is amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Our room is a bit far at the corner. It requires a few stair steps which is not very convenient when we have lots of luggages

Room was great but wish the bathroom light did not go out. Light is based on a sensor and sometimes it went off when taking a shower as the sensor was away from the shower.

This is a gorgeous hotel, in the heart of Alesund. The foyer area is a stand out, dominated by an enormous fireplace. Comfortable chairs and muted lighting and colours make it incredibly relaxing. If you get sick of paying the typically exorbitant prices at the hotel bar and decide to smuggle in takeaway booze, the staff will happily supply you with ice cubes. The state-owned booze shop is a short walk away. If you’re at the hotel on a Sunday through to Wednesday, the hotel supplies a simple but delicious evening dish on the house. a lovely touch! Try to get to the hotel’s own restaurant though, it’s amazing.

Just a few slippages. We were given the wrong room the first night, but we were moved the next day. And we made a booking at the restaurant but it wasn’t recorded properly. Still, we got a table!

Great hotel in central Ålesund. The interior architecture (in particular the fireplace in the reception area and the breakfast room) is fantastic. The wellness facilities (sauna overlooking central Ålesund) and a bridge allowing for a bath in the sea water are unique.

No hotel parking and the parking garage recommended by the hotel has parking spaces which are way too narrow. The public parking at Kremmergården is much better and not too far away from the hotel.

The hotel was perfectly located for exploring Alesund and beyond. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the outdoor baths and the breakfast was excellent, catering to all tastes. This was an unexpected second visit to the hotel because of Storm Hans. We had no hesitation in returning.

The hotel offers a quaint and old-Norway lodge or inn feel complete with cozy sitting areas and lobby fireplace and side Scandinavian style restaurant with fabulous breakfast buffet. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Rooms intimate and have authentic old European touch. A special retreat in Alesund

Hotel located in the City center, everything is in walking distance. Fantastic breakfast buffet and a nice wellness aerea. Parking around the hotel is possible with extra fee.

On Saturday the restaurant for dinner was already fully booked and on Sunday the restaurant was closed. Anyway the friendly staff gave me good recommendation.
