I was very pleased with my experience at Hotel Noreg following a 15 hour ferry ride. Solgunn checked me in after 12:30 a.m. and was very helpful with helping me plan my bus schedule for the following day. Accommodations were perfect, with a room that was immaculately clean and comfortable. I appreciated the generous breakfast in the morning. The price was very reasonable. Manager Thomas shared information about the hotel's vast art collection. Sylvia gave good information to help me find my way around Ålesund. Leonhard went above and beyond with helping me arrange an out of season ferry ride to a small village. Each of these examples demonstrate the commitment of Hotel Noreg to superior customer service. We really liked the room, it was super comfortable, super clean and modern. The bed was extra comfortable. We did book a superior room based on some of the reviews about the standard rooms, so we decided to go for an upgraded room category. As well the breakfast was super nice. Staff was nice and attentive!

We could hear the washing machine from one of the housekeepers offices pretty clearly in the room. It started as soon as 7 am waking us up when we wanted to have a long sleep, so that was maybe the only thing we didn't like. The soundproofing of these rooms leaves a lot to be desired.

An exceptional stay at the hotel. All of the staff were very helpful, from telling us on street parking was free from our arrival on Saturday night until Monday morning, to the fantastic, varied breakfast on offer. The room was a good size and had everything we needed. The hotel is clean, tidy and central. Everything you need.

There was only 1 pillow on each side of the bed. On the last night we found spare pillows in the wardrobe which seemed unusual but that is the only small thing.

The standard room was spacious for 2. The beds are good (not super soft), the bathroom was big, the in-room amenities included a phone, mini kettle, cups, glasses, etc. Our mini fridge was not working and we reported it to the reception and they took note of it right away. The breakfast was really good - warm, cold, savory, sweet - it was a pretty good spread.

No free parking :/ Overnight car parking is 200 NOK. Street parking is free from 4PM - 8AM, though which is great. You can pay using EasyPark app.

The room was comfortable large with four real beds, there was an empty fridge for own soft drinks etc. (no need to empty a minibar for own stuff). There was a gym and always available espresso & cacao etc. drinks machine. Friendly personnel who helped with our questions about nearby locations (Geiranger) visits.

Car parking was a bit challenging at times, took time to find a free nearby parking spot. Hotel room had a small issue with shower that was fixed during our stay.

Superb location. Room size was unexpectedly large with a very cosy feel. Bathroom was also large and easily maneuverable. Comfortable bed with two relaxing armchairs and a small coffee table. The room also had a kettle. Super favourite welcome surprise was the compact fridge. There was also a guest umbrella which is an always handy piece of equipment for Ålesund. Breakfast was varied and of a high quality. All the staff I met were very friendly and helpful. Overall a very lovely, enjoyable stay.

Stayed for 4 nights and had a very good experience. Room and facilities were very good as was breafast and the staff. Very good location for us as we were getting the ferry at 1 am so the hotel made us feel at home by letting us stay with free tea and coffee. Its not far to anyhwere and the public transport is easy to use so you dont need a car.

This is a very well run hotel so there is not much to dislike. Can get a little busy at breakfast but what would you expect and not a problem if your not in a rush.

Amazing hotel in the heart of Ålesund. Hotel is perfectly located near to all atractions and near to the water with beautiful view. Room was very clean, modern and spacious. Stuff was very helpful. The best thing was delicious buffet breakfast - there was almost everything - hot and cold dishes, many variations of milk - plant based and lactose free too. We will definitely come back! :)

Friendly staff and perfect location, picturesque car parking near the hotel. Breakfast was okish, nothing special, but has everything you need to start the day. Didn't have a chance to try a gym, but nice that they have it. Room itself was clean and cozy, really like it. Almost perfect value for its money.

When I was here it was road reconstruction just under my room, so it was a lot of dust and noise, but it's not the hotel fault, of course. Anyway my stay was a bit spoiled.

There is an abundance of very comfortable common space throughout the hotel, which was nice during downtime. The room was spacious and had plenty of table surfaces and places to sit (other than the bed!)

We could have used some flat surfaces in the very large bathroom—space for toiletries would have been nice. We had a family room, so the kids slept on the old-style fold out couch with the bar in the middle, which they grumbled about a little. But they are kids, and recovered quickly.
