This has been one of the best experience on my trip through Sweden, Finland and Norway. The place has so much good taste on decoration, the views are amazing and the rooms cozy, clean and well equiped. Breakfast was excelent and with great variety. It is very well located, you can easily walk to the city center and also have groceries store close by. If you dont feel like walking you can order food from few restaurants directly to the hotel. The best was without doubt the staff, helpfull and kind, made my stay felt like home. I have been in lots of hotels in my life and this will keep a place in my hearth. Absolutely recomended.

I should have stayed more days.

The breakfast was the best we have experienced in Scandinavia in the past 2 months. Lots of fresh fruits a wide selection for most nationalities and well presented. Good sized room with a view out over the fjord. Parking is free and easy. WiFi is fast and reliable throughout the building. Beds are comfortable and big. Blackout curtains are reasonable and necessary in the summer but a non sea view room is a bit darker as it is shaded from the midnight sun.

Checking in was a problem as the place is not attended by the host most of the time. We were sent an access code by email but without Internet during the drive to the hotel we couldn't access the building or a room. Other guests were also standing around waiting for access. There is no desk in the room so we had to set up the laptop in the shared lounge. This was not really a problem as the lounge was small but not busy.

The location was amazing, and so were the facilities. The staff was very friendly. The 8-course dinner was tasty.

There was a lot of construction going on; the sauna and wellness area were under construction and inaccessible. The 8-course dinner had very small portions. We had to go to another restaurant in the city after to eat more. One small detail to note: there were flowers in vases placed in various areas, and the water in the vases was almost white because the staff did not change it. This was a bit off-putting and somewhat unpleasant.

Nice big room, good size bathroom, good blackout curtains and blinds, comfortable bed, free parking on site unlike the big name hotels in the centre. Common areas are a little quirky and nice,y done - and the breakfast selection is fabulous.

Although decent coffee machines are available 24/7 in the common areas, there is no kettle in the room for that early morning cuppa (maybe a British thing?). There is almost nowhere close by to eat, although getting in to the town centre is very quick and easy with all its choices.

Altafjord Gjestegaard is a very charming place, very well decorated. The view from our bedroom was magnificent and we had the most incredible breakfast that you can imagine with all kinds of goodie’s. Our hostess was very smiling and helpful. This address is really a must on the road to North Cape.

Everything was perfect. But take care of the indications to this address given by Google maps : the location is good but the ways to get there are a little bit weird.

The breakfast was amazing!!!! They had literally everything. And the view from my room was mesmerising. Being able to look over the fjord first thing every morning, just completely insane.

The only negative thing I have to say is that my room smelled horrible. Like someone had spilled a whole bottle of men's perfume. I don't know where it came from but I had to keep the windows open most of the day because it made me really uncomfortable and gave me a headache.

Breakfast was superb!! (best breakfast we ever had for sure, they even had macaroons) :) you can also enjoy nice view of the fjord while eating. Room was also much nicer compared to the photos! The room (and bathroom as well) seemed new and nicely decorated. Dark painted walls and large curtains made it easy to sleep. Great experience overall, we liked it so much that we were sorry we only stayed for one night :)

Everything excellent! A most enjoyable establishment. The more expensive hotels of the city centre of Alta surely succumb to the fine details, satisfying landscape view and excellent standard of this one! Ten rooms (I believe), two nice lounges and varied options at breakfast!

Just ridiculous of me, but in search of a small minus.... After an extensive and tiresome effort, found a meager area of some dust on top of one lamp in the downstairs lounge... 😆

I LOVED this guesthouse! The views of the fjord are amazing, especially from the sitting and breakfast room, and the breakfast buffet was remarkably diverse and absolutely delicious. Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate was a nice touch in the damp climate. I will definitely be back!

The automatic check-in process was a little confusing, but the instructions were clear and it makes perfect sense once you're at the property.

The hotel was nicely decorated and spacious. Never saw any staff members which felt a little odd (reception's opening hours were very limited) but they gave us good enough instructions by email so we didn't have any trouble getting into our room. The coffee machine in the lobby was nice as was the view from the breakfast room and lobby.

Parking space is very limited so it gave us a bit of a headache to park our car (chevy suburban). Hotel restaurant wasn't open in September so be prepared to drive or walk 2 km dowtown to get food.
