Hotel staff are great, bed and breakfast was delicious. Everything is homemade at breakfast and organic all the jams and nut butter ect and it was so nice. The best breakfast we had in Norway. Restaurant was delicious we ate their both nights (2) it is same menu though. So we would have had to find somewhere else to eat if we had stayed longer. Rooms are so pretty and the view was lovely, we could see the lake. We were in the modern part which we preffered. They had a coffee machine in the room and tea making facilities, which was great and a first for Norway. No other hotels we stayed in had this. We stayed 6 places over 10 days so got a good feel for deferent places and price points. This is good value for money.
Nothing about the hotel. The location is nice for a short stay but we would only stay a couple of nights as their aren't many restaurants near other than the hotel and it's about a 55 minute drive to stryn kommune where we spent 3 days and stayed 1 night.

The staff is friendly, our room was very clean and nicely furnished. The beds are super soft and comfy. Breakfast had a lot of homemade products and catered for every taste. Just 2min walk from the hotel is the lakefront and the village center. There are a lot of parking spaces and charging is also possible.
We would recommend to provide a bath mat as the shower drain is too high and you flood the whole bathroom once you take a shower. Our room had the windows towards the dumpster and trash was thrown into them until midnight. A mini fridge would also have been a good addition to the room. There was only filtered coffee for breakfast.

Fab breakfast buffet. All Norwegian hotels put out a buffet, almost all the same items BUT Gloppen was the only hotel where most of the items were home made. Also, it had the largest selection of items I've seen at a hotel and the produce was fresh. I guess I really am Norwegian (American) when it comes to comfort food - egg salad, liverwurst, bread and butter (sweet) pickles, fresh strawberry sauce and thick (not UK thin porridge) oatmeal (with butter!) The staff will toast your bread if you ask (I know, Norwegians don't eat toast BUT UK/Americans do). Contact the hotel directly before you book to guarantee a room on the view side of the hotel, especially if this is a once in a lifetime visit to Nordfjord. The single rooms are very basic and small but us singles often feel slighted. The double rooms are large (312 was wonderful). They provided a "wake up" knock on the door (I do not have a cell phone.) Figure out your dinner plans before hand, there are NO restaurants other than pizza. Nordfjord sentrum had one restaurant open on Saturday night. Luckily it was very good but only had about 8 items.
My single room did not have soap or shampoo in the bathroom.(I had to go down at 7 am and ask) Dispensers should be installed in the shower stall.

Lovely historic hotel. Very friendly staff. Great restaurant - I had perhaps the best meal there of my entire trip to Norway! Comfortable lobby for sitting and people-watching. The room was a bit small for the price, but worth it for a chance to stay in the hotel. A great stop if you are traveling up the coast of Norway.
The town of Sandane was a bit boring. Not much to do.

Variety of rooms and accommodations between “old” and new rooms. Conference center facilities. Available dinners are excellent and worth the little extra spent on a meal. Breakfast is typical for area hotels with added homemade jams and warm bread and homemade peanut butter and chocolate hazelnut spread (way better than you-know-what). Vegetarian options available with inquiry. Clean rooms and lovely staff.
Public seating area noisy next to kitchen area.

Very forthcoming and friendly staff. We could get a short-term table for dinner (which is a selection of courses but from a very good chef), not classically a la carte with a huge selection. But the dinner was very delicious and our waitress was super friendly and professional even though we gathered it was her first week. Dinner is not cheap in absolute terms, but for the quality delivered, it's a very fair price.
Really nothing in particular. It was a very good stay, sadly only one night.

Wonderful hotel! The room was very nicely decorated. The space in the reception area was super cozy and inviting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. There were different kinds of homemade bread. There was a wide variety of food. Much of it was homemade too.
At night it was a bit noisy due to a wannabe Formula One driver who did his laps until three in the morning.

We had a dog with us and the staff was kind enough to help us think about how we could enjoy breakfast and dinner without having to leave the dog alone. They really made the effort to make us feel comfortable. Best hotel we found in Norway!

we liked the rooms and restaurant a lot. great food and good place to crash if you are passing through for a day or 2. parking is big enough for a van.
nothing that comes to mind, maybe the TV channels are a bit limited if you have bad weather.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and spaceous room.
The rooms are too hot in summer and don't have aircondition. Even with open windows it is difficult to sleep. They should adapt to the reality of climate change and install aircondition.
