Our stay at Sama Raz al Jinz was an absolute delight. The staff's exceptional hospitality, especially towards our little one, made the experience truly special. The unique resort is really a very special location since it offers a magical night under the stars in the middle of Oman. You are close to the beach and to Sur for some excursions. We also would like to highlight the great food offer in the morning and at night. We enjoyed it very much. Overall, Sama Raz al Jinz provided a perfect blend of home-like comfort and an extraordinary Oman experience. We highly recommend it to those seeking a great stay in the Sur region.

we chose to stay at SAMA Ras Al Jinz to provide easy access to the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve without having to stay at that hotel where the Turtle Reserve was. And it turned out to be an excellent idea. This hotel is very close to the turtle reserve, just a short drive away and is far more intimate, with a lot less people, much more peaceful and comfortable than the Turtle Reserve hotel we saw. Each hut has a very nice outdoor seating area so we can relax. The en-site shower is partially outdoors (while private within our room), the buffet was elaborate and delicious and the beds super comfortable. The hotel location is also quite secluded so we felt like we were completely in nature the whole time.

The hotel is located about 5 km from the turtle sanctuary and hence we selected it to stay. It's situated in the middle of large open lands on all sides. The rooms are rustic but comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. Saw our first stray camel here which excited the kids no end!

The breakfast could have been better. There was a single lane road close by which had some noise during the day. And there was some random garbage here and there in the open lands outside the resort. But really not much to complain about.

Needless to say this is the type of gateway - discover Oman - eco friendly property that we are lucky to have in Oman. The area is breathtaking. Best thing? The shower under the stars. Highly recommended.

Not necessarily negative points but you may want to consider, depending on your needs: - Meals (except bkf) may not be served if occupancy is low. Makes very much sense, as it is a eco friendly lodge and surely food waste is something they consider as well. Personally I highly approve. Anyway, you have options few mins drive away. - No WIFI. Like their motto says, connect with each other. If you are the type of workholic person that needs to always be connected, may be an issue. I am, and despite this throw me off a bit, I was thankful as I forced myself to disconnect and it is really important.

The room was very spacious and felt really original. The atmosphere is very beautiful and from the rooms to the paths and the restaurant area everything is well designed with a nice touch. It's well located, easy to find and we were welcomed friendly. The buffet for dinner and breakfast provided enough vegetarian options.

The coffee from a Nescafe machine is really disappointing. A filter coffee or anything but this instant coffee would have rounded up the near perfect stay.

very friendly manager and nice check in process. staff helped us with our luggage. the parking is right in front of the rooms. I really liked the “open air shower” which was a nice experience and different to other accommodations. the place is quite peaceful early afternoon before everyone arrives- make sure to arrive early to enjoy the calmness and the beautiful environment. the breakfast had fresh eggs (live cooking) which was a bit basic but still very welcome change to other hotels during Ramadan in Oman.

the dinner was quite bad; the chicken meat is just bones and the beef ragout mostly fat with a little bit of meat - if I had one, I would have given this food to my dog. only the salad was really yummy.

Very nice concept of the houses , big bathroom, close to turtles reserve. Nice sunset view.

Part of the concept is no wifi which makes not much sense for international tourist who stop there usually to see turtles. Personel all foreigners, they were helpful but behave like workers no hosts. Food average. Missed good Omani coffee and no water with breakfast and nowhere to buy any … expensive in comparison with some other locations but using fact there is nothing nice in the big radius.

Size of the room and bathroom; atmosphere and lights in the room; good bed and pillows; a fridge in the room. Breakfast and dining area and lounge area comfortable and welcoming.

Staff was not especially friendly and staying around instead of re-filling for breakfast or dinner. At each of our 6 meals we had to ask for having glasses or cups or spoons or something else. Despite the size of the room, there was no cabinet of cupboard to store our belongings.

We were upgraded half-way through our stay so that we could see their larger rooms. Our daughter got ill and they helped us a lot during that time. The staff are generally very friendly and they help make your stay comfortable. There is an open-air screening of movies each night right after sunset. They provide pop-corn and thereafter you get to eat dinner at the restaurant. The night sky is amazing on the location and the desert vistas are beautiful in the day. You are close to the Turtle Beach, Turtle Sanctuary, Ras Al Hidd, and Sur. This gives you a lot of options for sight-seeing and food.

The road noise does detract a little from the feeling of isolation, but luckily it is not a very busy road. Other than that there is not much to complain about.

The staff was very kind, the food was delicious. Very close to the reserve, the apartment was clean. The best cost benefit in the area. It´s close to the reserve, but you have to go by car.

It´s in the middle of the desert, so you have to take a car to get a mall or restaurant. At evening you can watch movie, to who will not visit the reserve at that time. You have to pay attention choosing your apartment because the cleapest ones have not private bathroom. When we arrived at the apartment, there were many flies, but after the AC turned on, they didn´t appear anymore. They don´t offer wi-fi
