The hotel is very unique - it's a former house (converted into hotel) by a local archeologist. It's a boutique hotel, has only 7 rooms. The rooms are not big (but bathroom is huge!), but nobody stays in a room when you travel, right? We spent 3 nights and everything was great. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, has memorabilia, has some archeological info. Everything was super clean. Super white. The housekeeping was provided every day. I particularly liked the heater in the bathroom (it can get quite cold during the night, so it's nice to walk in into the warm bathroom in the morning). The location of the hotel is great- on the outskirts of the city (when I say "outskirts" it means only 7 min slow walk to the center, yeh, Portugal is a small country), hence there is almost no traffic there during the night. It was SUPER quiet. The breakfast was fantastic and with freshly baked goods every morning. the people that work at the hotel are the most cordial and helpful and amazing. Plenty of parking spots in the hotel yard/parking, and it's free. The bed was super comfortable btw.

I recently had the most incredible time at Casa da Torre Viseu. It was seriously amazing! From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for something special. The rooms at Casa da Torre Viseu were like a cozy paradise. The sheets were so luxurious, I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. And can we talk about how clean everything was? Spotless! Now, let me tell you about the best part – the breakfast! Picture this: a beautiful plate served with the freshest cherries and strawberries from their garden. It was like a burst of sweet goodness on my taste buds. Yum! And speaking of breakfast, they went all out. They served it with fancy Vista Alegre China and elegant table linens. It felt like a fancy feast, and I couldn't help but feel like royalty. But you know what made my stay truly special? The people. The owner, her daughters, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. They treated me like family and made me feel right at home. Their warmth and genuine care made all the difference. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort and a friendly vibe, Casa da Torre Viseu is the place to be. I liked everything

 A family run seven room property with gated parking. The family does everything possible to ensure that your stay and visit to Viseu  is the best possible experience. while not located in the old town. It is a 15 minute modestly downhill and uphill walk to the cathedral and on the way back just before you reach the hotel on the right there’s a very nice view of the old town.

While the parking gate has the number to call to get it open it’s not that easy to see when you’re parked parallel to the gate. They should send it to you before your arrival.

This is just a great place to stay. You do have to walk into Viseu, or get a taxi, but it’s quiet, convenient for parking and the staff are amazing, they really make you feel like family. Breakfast was lovely and everything was really spotlessly clean and comfortable. We loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Although a bottle of water was placed in the room, it was charged at 2 euros. I’d rather have paid two extra euros for my room and got a free bottle of water. Just a tiny detail though.

From the first encounter with Adriana who explained how this facility operated to the beautiful rooms full of history and meaning to the modern shower and the aroma throughout the facility to the breakfast served by Laurinda that tried to please every one of the guests. We loved a nearby restaurant “ Cardo’s”

That their beautiful swimming pool was not available for use by the guest due to a bureaucratic reason

Location was a very short drive from restaurants and attractions - wasn’t too far to walk if so desired. It was extremely quiet and the staff was wonderful - just wish our Portuguese was better so we could have conversed more! Having on site parking and nice breakfast included were huge pluses. Large, very comfortable and clean rooms and great value - highly recommend!

A relatively new small family-run bed and breakfast hotel in a locally well-known historic home. The renovation--from the rooms to the reception area to the dining room and common sitting area--is contemporary, very nice, and of high quality. The owner and host is exceptionally friendly, helpful, and enthusiastically knowledgeable about both the history of the house and its famous former owner (and designer of the house) and of the City of Viseu itself. Our room was large, comfortable, and quiet, and our breakfast was excellent. The walk to the older central part of the city was reasonably short and a small price to pay for having free, onsite parking.

The grounds are very nice and the weather when we were in Viseu was beautiful. A few chairs and a table or two outside would be an outstanding addition to the common area.

The breakfast was fresh, beautifully presented and served by very genuine and friendly staff who made us feel relaxed and welcoming. The rooms and building are of very high quality , clean lines with very modern facilities. I cannot express highly enough how pleased I am with my stay at Casa de Torre

Nothing to dislike

The owners of this new, historical hotel were wonderfully accommodating and kind. We arrived to to beautifully restored grounds, with easy parking. Each room is named after an archaeological discovery of the quirky man who used to live here. The rooms were quiet and well-designed, and there is also a comfortable shared space for work or leisure. It's a short walk to the center of Viseu, where we enjoyed all the recommendations of the hotel staff! Breakfast was delicious, generous, and fully customizable,including local specialities. Highly recommend this local gem!

The friendliness of the staff even with some language barrier, the history of the building (lots of details in the room and common areas, almost felt like staying in a museum) and the cleanliness of the room, the proximity to the city center (we went to the feira of saint Mateus and it was a 20min walk)
