Large and well equipped hotel in the city centre, in a nice location close to the main attractions (old town, fortress, parks, Danube), shops, restaurants. Rooms are pleasant (though make sure you book the "superior room", especially in summer). Staff is nice and kind. Option for breakfast, restaurant, and private parking.

My room was on the top floor and had no air conditioning, at the time when there was 37-38 C outside, so it was a genuine sauna, even through the night. Yes, it was my oversight that I didn't book a "superior room" that has air con, but I didn't think air con was a luxury in 2023; also booking.com selects the standard rooms by default.

Nice room, comfortable beds, beautiful view from window, hotel in city centre, delicious breakfast, small fridge, free parking at the street (outside of the ramp - just few meters away)... except air conditioning, everything in hotel was very well... we also get very good price for night and map of city with tourist objectives...

Air conditioning in our room was not working and receptionist at the check-in did not tell us about malfunction before we find out... room was very warm at the evening, it took us until about midnight to cool it down with just the windows opened (top floor, south room, hot summer)... however at the end, we slept well...

We had to choose this hotel due to the fact that we wanted 24h front-desk. Location is perfect and rooms with river view give a very nice overview on the Danube. Although there are some parts of the hotel which look outdated, the room was clean, mattress relaxing and everything what you expect from a 3 stars hotel.

Even if you are checked-in at the hotel, you have to pay for the parking the entire fee. I can understand that is a small parking, but at least charge only half the price for the guests. Doors from the rooms would benefit from an upgrade, they are really out-dated!

The hotel had an old, antique style decoration which made it feel very Eastern European. The rooms were spacious and the view was just incredible! The staff were very friendly and we had no issues at all.

We’re from opposite ends of Europe so the breakfast for me is not what we’d expect but it was good either way and good value for money.

This was another time I visited Drobeta Turnu Severin and stayed in this good hotel, may be my fourth visit in this hotel. This city and Hotel at the beginning of the IRION GATE of the Danube river ("Eiserne Tor" der Donau), are definitively a MUST to visit - both the Danube river an this city. A lot of ART DECO Houses ("Jugendstil") are still there and many of them nicely refurbished / renovated. The THEATRE is a beautiful Building of the same time period, close to the Danube. The hotel is in good condition, the Receptionist was very helpful, speaks perfectly English Language, so was the waiter in the hotel-restaurant, where I enjoyed an excellent dinner. The breakfast area is in the Hotel-Lobby, where the waiter prepared individually the breakfast of my choice with scrambled eggs etc., the coffee was very good. My room (Exec. room) was to the side of the Danube, the view is just stunning! Opposite side of the Danube is Serbia.

Just as a friendly advice, the Restaurant area could be a bit upgraded with a more 'cosy' atmosphere.

You can easily immerse into the ‘80s atmosphere. The hotel is yet under refurbisment, you may consider it outdated but we have enjoyed the old fashion design of our childhood. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You can still use hair dryers manufacured in west germany (RFG) :)

There are still construction works at the hotel, sometimes the upgrades of the old communist rooms are not at the highest quality. It would be better to mentain the spirit of it instead a modernization of low quality.

A traditional hotel of the era. 10 minutes walk from the railway station. Now looking a bit dated but dont let that put you off. Helpful and friendly reception, late night bar and excellent breakfast. The rooms are looking dated but very clean and well equipped. Fantastic views of the Danube and into Serbia on the other side. Recommended

It's a hotel from the communist era, but they have made it look nice inside. The staff at reception were all very friendly and spoke good English. The view of the Danube from the room was fantastic. Buffet breakfast had everything I wanted Location is right in the middle of the town, just ten minutes walk from the train station

Hotel is located near the main street and dancing water fountain of Drobreta Turnu Severin, which is spectaular. Rooms are clean. Breakfast was sufficient and good. Our motorbikes were safely parked in yard outside hotel. The receptionist Laura, is very friendly with customers.

I liked the location of the hotel and the fact that we had AC in the room and parking (20 lei per day). The hotel is situated next to the Severin citadel and all the other interesting touristic points are reachable within walking distance.
