- The place is beautiful, you will enjoy it with no issues or regrets - the surrounding mountains and sunsets are stunning - the place is close to the gate of the national park leading you to Sossusvlei

- we recommend staying 1 or 2 nights max. Arrive, sleep, visit Sossusvlei the next morning, come home around noon or early afternoon, relax, sleep, leave. The reason being that there’s really nothing else to do but to stay in your room or by the pool. It’s very remote. - we booked 3 nights at first (which ended up being one night too many for our taste), but the strict cancellation policy made it impossible for us to change that after we booked. - a bit too pricey for value in our opinion

Our favorite stay in Namibia! Comfortable, spacious cabins in an incredibly beautiful landscape. The staff members were great, the star-gazing amazing and they offered a delicious self-bbq menu that we had a blast making one evening. You will not be disappointed booking this place!

Just 2 fixable issues that made it fall just shy of a perfect stay - 1) the outdoor trash cans didn’t lock and/or weren’t emptied at night (even though we were told they would be), so the local wildlife had at them each night leaving a mess for guests to pick up in the mornings and 2) a couple of camping chairs would have gone a long way for a comfortable place to sit outside of the cabin to gaze at the desert and stars.

The Camp is part of a bigger groups of lodges, most notably the Sossusvlei Lodge. Desert Quiver felt like our private exclusive section of that group. We could use the facilities of the Sossusvlei Lodge and have dinner in their fabulous restaurant and return afterwards to our more remote exclusive part of the desert. The pool was lovely after a long day of traveling, the rooms generous and clean and the staff were a dream. I would also highly recommend doing the Sossosvlei tour. It was really well done, with a lot of love and attention to detail and the ending with a wonderful breakfast picnic under the camelthorn trees was an absolute highlight.

The toilet in the room doesn’t have a door but is hidden behind a wall. It’s not a big problem but it can be a bit uncomfortable if you’re shy.

Our accommodation was stunning! We loved all the rock formations nearby. It's close to Gate 1 I'm Sossusvlei. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was nice, with a good view for sunset. We saw some cute jackals!

We didn't realize that there were 2 gates to enter the park. The second gate opens an hour before sunrise and after sunset. But the first gate opens AT sunrise and closes at sunset. So we had to go later. Nothing to do with the accommodation though. We were still very happy with everything.

Excellent location for Sossusvlei, only minutes from the park entrance (by car). Large rooms, very nicely appointed and comfortable with outdoor kitchen and brain. Outdoor bar serves full range of drinks. Dinner and breakfast are served in the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge which is a lovely hotel. The outdoor dinner buffet was glorious.

The toilet was not in an enclosed space, just divided from the bedroom by a screen wall. My wife and I have been married 42 years and much as we love each other neither of us is particularly partial to listening to the others toilet machinations.

We loved the vibe at Desert quiver camp. We loved the design of the common area (pool and bar) built in front of the rocks in the middle of the desert. The cabins were spacious, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed relaxing during the heat of the day by the pool and the bar, where you can also enjoy the sunset right in front of the pool. No food available at the lodge but you can order groceries to do your own barbecue or head to Sossuvlei lodge which is just 5 minutes drive away for excellent dinner buffets in their outdoor restaurant.

It would have been great if more food/snacks were available at the pool bar.

We liked specifically the outdoor kitchen and doing our little braai there. the location is superb, with the desert as your front yard. When we were there it was full moon, so the images were magic. We also recommand Desert Quiver Camp because it is the closest accomodation (apart from the Sossoudvlei Lodge) to the national park entry. so you don't need to drive during the dark over gravel road to be there at sunrise, as strongly advised!!! As it is so close you can even relax inbetween two visits to the park on one day.... we would love to stay here again.

Beautiful setting, less than a 5 min drive to Sossusvlei park entrance. There is a pool with a bar. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. They are air conditioned, but we didn’t need it with a strong cross breeze when you open the windows. The staff were very friendly.

There is no onsite catering - you need to make a reservation at Sossusvlei lodge for meals. Each room has a kitchen which is de minimis - just 2 hot plates, a tiny fridge and a sink (outside on the veranda). The pool area has very little shade (just 3 small umbrellas) which makes it almost unusable if you need cover from the sun (the pool is popular and the umbrellas are always taken). The pool needed cleaning - cloudy water with slime on the sides.

The location was good to the entrance of the park and close to the lodge. The pool was also very relaxing.

The pool needs a proper scrub as green/black algae buildup is present but clean otherwise. Waiters could assist at the pool area with shade or drinks orders. Dustbins should be instructed to guests to rather store indoors until the morning as jackals ransacked ours so we had to pick up - No warning was given of this.

We were looking for a location close to the Sossusvlei park gate, and this was both close and affordable (relatively speaking for the area). It turned out to be highly scenic as well, with a backdrop of rocks, a nice pool, and an inviting bar. Meals at the Sossusvlei Lodge were a plus -- excellent dinner and a lunch basket.

No on-site restaurant facilities -- but that should be understandable: you are in the middle of the desert and a short drive from the fabulous Sossusvley Lodge, paying a fraction of the cost of staying at the lodge. The property would have been fabulous for self-catering, but we were not prepared for that.
