Location is excellent,on the north side of town just by the bridge. It’s a guarded compound so you get complete privacy. But you can also just take a few mins stroll to the amenities and eateries. Safe,as there is a guard post by the entrance so you know that only guests and friends are can enter the compound. The breakfast spread was really great that serves western spread as well as some local delicacy. Each private bungalow is riverfront and from the balcony you see an excellent view of the sunset. Service was excellent, they clean yr room every morning unless you request them not to. The resort provides a bicycle free of charge. I just wish there is a small or side table at the balcony but that’s not a big issue.

One of the lounge chair in my room was semi broken but it’s not a big problem for a solo traveller.

Beautiful views of the river from our balcony, very peaceful sitting watching the boats go by, good location close to restaurants and the start point for nearby viewpoint walks and a short walk to the boat pier. However be aware there are sometimes boats at sunset which loiter in front of the hotel playing very loud music and also the bar next door sometimes plays very loud music.....fortunately it wasn't for too long and was always quiet at night to sleep. The bed was very comfortable, extra blankets are provided ( it gets very cold here at night). Buffet breakfast was reasonable and with a nice view overlooking the river.

The occasional party boat at sunset making a lot of noise and disturbing our peace.

Lovely spacious bungalow, with a magnificent view over the river and the mountain opposite. Very good breakfast, including muesli with yoghurt and fresh fruit, as well as an egg station. The location is a bit outside town, but still at easy walking distance to restaurants.

Although they have a coffee machine, this is not included in the breakfast and the coffee they do provide was not to my taste. They use an unfavorable exchange rate, making tours they offer more expensive in kip than what's offered at an identical USD price elsewhere.

This accommodation is in a stunning location with dramatic views. From the deck of your thatched cabin you look across the Nam Ou River to the jungle on the karst maintains opposite. All day long you are entranced by boats & fishermen plying the river. The cabin itself has character galore & could be a romantic environment for some couples. The bed is comfortable, with mosquito net; the bathroom is all you need. Everything listed is in the room & if you need help, you can always find staff in the central building where the characterful dining room is. We had two breakfasts and two dinners there; the breakfast has full options although the coffee was bitter. At dinner we chose delicious Laos options offered. This is not budget accommodation but neither is it super expensive. I think Nong Liaw Riverside enhanced my appreciation of Laos, in particular the dramatic karst scenery in the north of the country. Nong Kiaw is a small dusty town & being older, we did not do the hiking, fishing & adventure tourism activities on offer. We sat on the deck of our cabin & were perfectly happy to drink in the view without exerting ourselves. If you want help with boat trips, activities or transport the staff are happy to assist - and the restaurant makes an excellent gin and tonic!

Stunning views of the river, mountains, bridge and (if clouds allow) sunset. The bungalow has a dreamy rustic charm, and is set in lovely grounds. The breakfast is really great (though perhaps a bit limited for vegans). Staff are wonderful. Water pressure excellent; and sheets and pillows (on the gorgeous four-poster-with-mozzie-net bed) are luxurious. It's fantastic value for money. Fresh water every day comes in a glass bottle - not plastic.

The worst thing is that the fridge turns off when you leave the bungalow so when you return from a long, hot day of trekking you've only got a lukewarm beverage. Also, the safe was broken, the floor fan didn't work, the duvet cover was ripped, and there was only one bedside reading light. Finally, they change the towels EVERY DAY even when you ask them not to.

Perfectly located in Nong Khiaw by the bridge. The restaurant has fantastic authentic laos food which was some of the best we had on our trip. The staff are friendly and helpful too and for the price , the view from the rooms is great. You may have to deal with some wildlife in the rooms due to the nature of Nong Khiaw itself, but the beds have great mosquito nets aswell. However if we were to return to NK, we would stay here again.

A couple of times the shower ran out of hot water quickly.

Exceeded expectations! We increased our budget slightly and were impressed by how much a little more money gave so much more. Our room was big, bathroom facilities good with a great shower (not a wall mount heater type), balcony overlooking the river and the majestic mountain face. Breakfast was the real buffet deal with good selection and eggs available cooked to your choice. Everything about this place was Excellent, including the happy, friendly gate man.

We had a great stay..unfortunately were booked out when we tried to book again via an online service. We emailed directly but received no reply, this response time should be improved.

The property consists of a lobby/restaurant building and I think about 15 cottages strung along the bank of the Ou River. The cottages each have a big balcony offering a view of the river and the huge mountain on the other side, and the paved path to the cottages is through a lot of vegetation that makes the place seem very natural and secluded. Comfortable bed, working electrical and plumbing, and good lighting in the bathroom.

There were 2 lounge chairs on the balcony that I did not find particularly comfortable.

The view on the river was fantastic, also the breakfast buffet was gorgeous with a fresh making egg station, good coffee and every day they changed some of the dishes. The bungalow was very spacious. There was hot water and good water pressure in the shower.

The bungalow itself was very cold as it isn't isolated, but there is a small heater inside. In the bathroom it was very cold as well. We had only two big towels which was a bit less.

What is there not to like? From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the smiling face on the concierge/gatekeeper. Je insists on carrying your nags and escorting you through the flower-bedecked pergola to reception and then onwards to your bungalow. The bungalows have a superb view over the river and are well-equipped. The bed was enormous and very, very comfortable. The water pressure in the bathroom was so good that one was able to have a proper shower. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone. All the staff are so helpful and keen to make sure your stay is good. Well, my stay wasn't good, it was excellent!!! If I could, I would give this place at least 12 stars 🌟.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about here!
