Home feeling, extra clean room, quiet and safe. Beautifully decorated and so spacious room. Hot water, small but functional kitchen. Room service was wonderful. We really enjoyed the stay.

Pool was inoperative and was a bad surprise while in a hot city. Was one of our priorities to choose accommodation and it wasn't clean or ready. But the rest was just over our expectations, so is ok. Location is not even nice. Just next to a garage and not a nice surroundings. Far from any supermarket if you go walking.

Marcel and Gezina are fantastic hosts and pay great attention to detail. We really loved our stay at Carmel Villa and can highly recommend it in Calvinia. The breakfast we had at Carmel Villa was also fantastic! We stayed in Calvinia to see the flowers around Niewoudville and think that Carmel Villa is a wonderful accommodation option. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful historical house in Calvinia. The room was very comfortable and cozy, with a lovely view of the garden. The hosts were gracious and kind, and they made us feel at home. The breakfast was served in style and was exceptionally good, with fresh and local ingredients.

Nice clean comfortable place with the basic amenities. Welcoming hosts. Appreciated the fan provided for the hot evening, and also the mosquito repellants for the unwelcomed visitors. Centrally located. We were able take a stroll to town on a quiet Saturday evening, to look for a place to eat and found the wonderful Blue Naartjie which served generous delicious portions for hungry travellers.

Not able to avail ourselves of breakfast but the quality of the accommodation in the two bedroomed cottage in the garden was superb. Comfortable well equipped rooms and excellent fibre WiFi. The hosts went out of their way to give a warm welcome and make themselves readinly available to deal with any issues or answer questions about the town. Highly recommend Carmel Villa and would happily stay there again.

The rooms and bed are comfortable with just what I needed for a goods night stay. There's an excellent restaurant within walking distance. The breakfast is great too.

The location is near the main road through Calvinia and unfortunately the trucks can be noisy in the evenings and at night. This might annoy some. But maybe ask for a room nearer the back.

Very well located. Close to the main street where the town is. Within walking distance to a fabulous restaurant "die Blou Nartjie". The breakfasts were superb. Marcel and Gezina are very friendly hosts. Lovely table setting in the cosy dinning room of this accommodation built in 1905.

We were warmly welcomed by Marcel and shown to our very comfortable garden cottage. We had driven from the Kgalagadi and load shedding was on when we arrived and Marcel very kindly put on his generator so that we could make a cup of tea before power came back on again. Rooms were comfie and electric blanket a treat as got to below 0 during the night. Perfect place to stop over on the way back to CPT and also if you are looking for accommodation during the flower season.

Great location in a quiet area of town. Lovely old cottage that has great outdoor seating for having a wine or chatting with friends. Within a two minute walk to shops as well. Very clean and everything you need for a self catering holiday

Beautiful old house with lots of history, in a fascinating Karoo town. Our hosts Marcel and Gezina were fantastic and made us feel right at home. Joining them for their home cooked breakfast is highly recommended, and was by far the best we had on our trip.
