Great location right in the middle of town with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff speaks good english and I was able to extend my stay from 1 to 3 nights without any problems. Because it is located on top of a shopping mall it is very quiet at night. Great value for money. What I liked as well, that if you say you don't need your room cleaned every day, you still automatically get new towels and fresh water without having to ask for it, that's a nice touch.

The location is great! It happens to be located at the commercial center where sit many malls, shops and food. Bathroom is a little bit small but fine for myself. They would ask you if you need daily room cleaning else they would bring new towels just to your door only. Great place to be alone in general. Remember to ask for the TAX refund!

The hotel is clean and located right in the heart of the city, and close to the subway. The area feels quite safe, and I was comfortable getting back alone in the evening. Laundry room is available for a small fee and one of the receptionists was very kind in helping me out to use it.

Some of the staff didn't speak any English and was communicating through Google Translate, which I find inappropriate for an international hotel. Also, when checking in I asked a couple of questions about the tax refund, and I was answered with "I have no idea". There are better ways to express that concept. I think the customer service level might be improved, but it really depended on the person on shift. Some of them were really nice and helpful. I also got a call on my first morning at 8 AM while I was sound asleep, just to let me know clean towels would be left by the door. They could have told me during check-in, rather than waking me up for such a small thing.

We are huge fans of the Toyoko Inn chain. The hotel in Daegu had everything we expected: the rooms are spotlessly clean and well thought-through to make the stay as comfortable as possible for each traveller (high bed under which you can store luggage, desk, mini-fridge, water kettle, free shampoo, conditioner and body wash, clothes line in the bathroom to dry clothes, etc.). The bathrooms are typically Japanese and super efficient. The breakfast is a delicious mix of Asian and Western options and organized efficiently. The Daegu hotel even exceeded our expectations: the rooms were huge! And some came with nice views. We also loved the location right in the middle of the shopping district with lots of restaurants and cafés nearby. There is a 7 Eleven convenience store on the ground floor of the hotel. We would definitely return, because this hotel is such good value for money.

The check-in took a bit long, as we arrived before the check-in time to leave our suitcases. When we returned at the right time, we were asked to fill out all the forms again.

It was good size room, comfortable and clean. Wifi worked well. Breakfast is a buffet with many choices. Lots of restaurants and shops in the area.

The atmosphere of the hotel isn't especially friendly. It's not that the staff aren't kind or anything, but the main floor is designed a bit like a hospital with very white walls and floors. They don't have a comfortable lounge area or a cafe, which makes it feel a bit stark--it's very much "check in, go to your room, stay, check out". I won't stay here again because of the atmosphere. It's not a bad hotel, it's just not my kind of place.

So clean and the staff are so friendly and professional and I could feel they were really listening to my questions or needs and were trying to help me to the best of their ability. Also, the free breakfast and the morning staff who prepare the breakfast are so nice and they even stayed a few minutes after to let some late-comers get their breakfast; didn’t rush them out! The price, safety, professionalism, cleanliness and location are all outstanding and I will definitely be staying at Toyoko Inns whenever I travel. I hope they can open up more locations all over the world! :)

There is no free cancellation which could definitely be an issue if your travel plans get delayed or disrupted.

The location was relatively central and there are many shops and eateries near the hotel. The hotel is very clean and the housekeeping did a great job making up the room each day. The provision of breakfast was a nice touch and allowed us to experience eating like a korean in the morning.

The tiny space, the hard bed and only one pillow per bed were the only downsides we had to deal with. Slippers were recycled and not those disposable ones which made us hesitant to use it and was unsure if it was cleaned for the next guest’s use.

Korean food for breakfast - tasty (and included in the room price). Superb location in an area with pedestrianized streets, a lot of restaurants, shopping, and a couple of museums. I expected a room like those in a Japanese business hotel. It was 3 times larger. Best to download a Korean map app (Google maps don't work well in S. Korea) and use it when walking around the area to avoid getting lost.

I needed the address in Korean to show the taxi at the train station and couldn't find it online.

Quick and easy check-in and even faster check-out. Slightly more choice at the complimentary breakfast compared to the previous Toyoko Inn I stayed at, so that's great.

Check-in time is taken very seriously, I couldn't get the key earlier. I left my suitcase in the lobby area under a green net with bells (for protection). Because there were already some more suitcases, the net was a little small and "difficult" to handle by myself (strings got caught on other luggage). Unfortunately, the reception staff didn't help me, although there were no other guests at that time.
