Beautiful setting, very easy to walk to all the attractions in the town. Our bedroom was wonderful, and quiet too, which is a real.plus point - no being woken up late at night or early by other guests. Lovely garden too, which was delightful for a drink or lunch. The staff were so helpful too - I left a ring behind, which they will help me courier back to England. Huge relief, as it had a lot of sentimental value to me.
Our only fault was that they could do with more bar staff.

A comfortable room with shuttered windows onto a quiet garden and a very pleasant tiled bathroom. Magnificent dining room with excellent service and lovely buffet style and cooked breakfast available. The hotel exudes a sense of quiet permanence and history. Absolutely lovely. The town, within the impressive walls, can easily be reached by walking, with plentiful restaurants nearby for those not choosing to dine at the hotel.
Parking was a little difficult, but a result of the hotel's location within the quieter streets of the mediaeval city. Extra parking was available in the hotel's garage at an additional cost, but we didn't use this.

If you love quality rustic then this is the hotel for you, its a super hotel in the best location. Whilst the hotel has parking its going to test your skills, if you cant get in the allocated space, park in one you can and inform reception, alternatively you could drop off your bags and park below the city walls, just a short walk back. Breakfast in the main restaurant is as good as it gets with just one negative mentioned below.
Aside from the buffet breakfast there is a menu left on the table for numerous cooked items but the waiting staff only bring coffee and don’t return to ask if you would like to order something. In this type of hotel I wouldn’t expect to go seeking staff to order something.

The hotel was extremely well placed inside the old city walls, the room was excellent as were the facilities offered by the hotel. Restaurant was first class, as was the food and service provided by the hotel
That we had not booked a longer stay

A beautiful parador, conveniently situated within the old town walls of Ávila. The garden and public areas (including the lovely bar) are a huge asset and it was lovely to sit outside in the evening. The dining room was beautiful and the whole parador was charming and atmospheric. The room was large.
It could be a little noisy at night with some building work on the street outside. The breakfasts were functional and there didn’t seem to be enough staff showing people to their tables or serving hot food. Having said that, the breakfast experience in the lovely dining room was a good one. The staff were fine with one or two on reception being a bit curt and unhelpful at times.

Staff were very helpful Reception staff took trouble to show us the garage and was patient in giving advice on parking in difficult spaces. Location and garden Lots of comfortable small lounges and sitting areas Bar and bar food was good. Some restauent menu items were very good eh veg lasagna
There are lot of stairs! Lifts hard to find. Room smelt musty but cleared when window was opened. Garage was expensive and need a degree in geometry to park there - danger of difficulty leaving, but we were lucky. Fixed meal times- booking for breakfast and dinner was expected but not really necessary. Some food was disappointing eg Hake was dry and steak was ordered as well done but arrived very rare. Could be a language problem since we couldn't speak Spanish.

So many stairs between the elevator and some of the rooms (including mine): I was not asked in check-in if any sort of accomodations were needed in that regard. There was also a lack of attention regarding the breakfast schedule at check-in: no schedule was set so the breakfast manager was always looking for our room number on their list and finding it odd that our hour was not set.

Great location, high standard of accommodation as you'd expect from a Parador, and the building was interesting. Old city inside the walls was fantastic to visit and explore. Great location
Really miffed at the standard of service at dinner, I think the waiting staff forgot about me after the main course, had to get their attentiomn several times after for the desrt menu, then for coffee and finally for the bill. Not up to the usual high service levels you get in a Parador.

Very helpful and friendly dining room waiters and excellent reception staff. We were very privileged to have a parking place at the hotel. It made such a difference. The Parador is close to old city wall, so we could easily walk all around the city.
We felt the city had not given sufficient profile of St. Theresa for the visitor - an opportunity missed! It seemed she had to give way to St. John of the Cross!

Firstly we were able to park in the free Hotel Car which was much ,more convenient than the paid spaces outside. The ambience of the terrace outside the bar was an excellent place for a drink after a four hour drive. The standard room was spacious and the bathroom and power shower were equivalent or better than a lot of more expensive hotels, we have stayed at over the years. The restaurant was very traditional with an excellent regional cuisine. To finalise the character and layout of the whole building was a joy to embrace. My wife is already lobbying for a return date.
The lift was short distance from our room but the stairs were difficult to find, a couple of signs may have helped. Other than that nothing to declare
