The hotel is nice and warm, loved the wooden structure and the bed was actually very comfortable to sleep in. Bathroom was big even if some more accessories for the guest could have been nice (eg toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel,...). Bar and restaurant are really really nice. Its position in front of the river and the old windmill is lovely

Breakfast could be improved. Not too much choice and in general not too good. Not a buffet breakfast, but I get it considering the small number of rooms

It's really a nice hotel, but the restaurant was closed and the breakfast served in the bar. Maybe due to COVID time. Staff is very friendly and location of the hotel is good. There are not many comparable options for a hotel in this area. Still I liked the visit and I come back next time !

Lovely old building by the river and a couple of historic buildings

Simply, air conditioning, or simply, lack of effective system. It may not matter to some, but for us if the property is advertised as having air con then it need to work. Arrived at the property and was allocated a downgraded room… sure we booked last minute and may have got a deal through booking.com , but no reason to downgrade us, pointed this out and was given the correct room, only for the air con not to be working. This can happen and I understand that. We tried to point this out and was told it would work in 10 mins, 1 hour later we are still saying ‘it’s just not working’, after 3 hours we asked to be moved (we had asked after the first hour), staff were good and agreed, second room air con marginally working, but honestly well sub par. We chose the town and hotel as we like to ‘give a little back’ to the smaller towns and operators. Sometimes it doesn’t pay off. Now I know the operators would have knocked about by the pandemic, as we all have, but just get the accommodation comfortable and People will be mostly forgiving of other shot comings. This review is not a personal attack, just meant to try and help what is obviously a struggling operator.
