The hotel was beautiful and clean, amazing location and helpful, friendly staff. We were able to store our bags at the hotel after checkout which was very helpful.

We visited during the summer and, because the hotel does not have air conditioning or even fans, our room was extremely hot all night. Despite us opening the window for breeze, it was very difficult to sleep due to the heat. A fan in the room would have made a big difference.

The view and location is absolutely wonderful! We had a room overlooking the monastery and were so happy about it! We watched the sunset and enjoyed the evening choir practice. The room and bathroom is nice and spacious as well, and the staff was very friendly. We went for a hike up the mountain and took the funicular and thoroughly enjoyed that as well.

We would have appreciated a kettle and small fridge. The restaurant is expensive and the cafeteria across the gift shop sold us very low quality food for lunch, so we bought fresh snacks at Oueviures for the evening, which was a better choice.

The location is fantastic. It is right by the Basilica and looks over the whole courtyard, monastery etc. It has stunning views of the mountains, easy access to great hiking trails. The restaurant was very good for dinner. It’s a three course dinner and the service was excellent. The breakfast was a very Spainish Continental breakfast and was good but more average. The beds and hotel are very clean and comfortable and the staff super friendly. Those are all the positives.

The only negative is there is no air conditioners , ceiling fan or personal fans etc. So you have to have the windows and curtains open. With them being open, you hear the church bells ringing all night. The light comes in the room first thing in the morning and you also hear all the people, vehicles etc outside all night. So my suggestion is bring an eye mask, small fan and ear plugs and the stay would be stellar. Or better yet the hotel to provide excellent accommodations should supply each guest with those items.

Location is superb, 3 min walk from train station, right next to the Monastery, 1 minute walk to the Basilica where we're welcome to attend morning Mass, join in morning / evening prayers. The staff were friendly and helpful with all my requests. The buffet breakfast (extra charge) was lovely and reasonably priced (considering this hotel is remotely located and hence extra transport cost to bring food supplies to the hotel). The room was clean and spacious. There is a lift which is helpful. For hotel guests, we are entitled to a discount when shopping at the nearby supermarket and cafe. Just show your hotel card before payment. Ask the reception for details.

No kettle or tea/ coffee making facility. For a family with young children and on a budget, you may find it easier to bring your own breakfast supplies and kettle / cups. Or stay at the service apartment - Apartamentos Montserrat Abat Marcet, Or at Alberg Abat Oliba, Montserrat

The location was excellent for our purposes - one night at Monistrol de Montserrat to be close to the basilica and the walks. The rooms were very spacious, with good sized bathrooms, too. The dinner in the restaurant was great quality, but the portions were too big for a three course menu. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great have a checkout time of 12pm, meant we could get another walk in after breakfast.

The breakfast was expensive for what it was. The coffee at breakfast was not good.

Literally, you are staying in a monastery, was absolutely stunning!! Just an awesome location, lovely walks and sights, will fondly remember our stay here forever ❤️ Magical. Wish we had of stayed 2 nights.

The restaurant food was pretty average, they didn't have a great understanding of food allergies and our meals that we got were very average BUT could be a lot worse too. The pricing was high for what it was. All in all it's great they even have a restaurant there.

The view! Opening our windows wide and hearing the church bells. The quiet, peacefulness of the evening and morning when the day-trippers aren't there as pretty magical.

I didn't realize that we would only have one option for dinner. The dinner was actually quite good, but 27 euro per person was more than I was expecting to spend. There is a small convenience store that had good snacks and drinks that we enjoyed from our room while we enjoyed the view!

Magnificent view for sunrise, square, and the monastery, very cosy rooms, it is located just near the monastery and close to all the hiking pathes. Restaurant is located in a very atmospheric place in the rock. Staff was very helpful.

Electric kettle in the rooms and small fridge would be just great. We asked for hot water from the kitchen. It would be great to have some vegan, non-gluten options for breakfast. Restaurant has options for dinner only with a 3 meal course together. It's not very convenient. Would prefer to have a selection of any course

The location is stunning, you feel very privileged to be staying right within the grounds of the monastery. Restaurant was also excellent, and catered well for children and vegetarians.

A little more information about arrival and parking would be useful. It’s a little confusing. Cars are not allowed into the monastery grounds, but you can bring your car in if you have a hotel reservation to drop your luggage and then go and park back in the car park.

The location is hard to beat. It's literally at the top of a mountain, next to an old monastery. The room I had didn't have a view out of the window except a rock face, but if you step out of the front door of the hotel, you emerge onto a "plaza" with a beautiful view. When all the visitors had gone home, it was fantastic to stand there and watch the sunset make its way across the towns hundreds of metres below. There are beautiful walks around the monastery site itself, and the fascinating museum and beautiful basilica very close. The room itself was very, very comfortable and for a great price - certainly compared with prices in Barcelona itself. The staff were professional and helpful. I have to say a word about the restaurant attached to the hotel too. Fantastic local food at a great price. No more expensive than any good restaurant, but truly delicious.

I can't think of anything. Perhaps if I really had to, I'd say the view: My room only faced a cliff face, so there were no views from the room. Other rooms, of course, on the other side of the property, have better views. And for me, for the price, this wasn't a problem.
