Beautiful stop on the Camino Spiritual Variante. With hostel accommodation in short supply we decided to treat ourselves and guarantee some comfort - this hotel did not disappoint. The Nespresso machine in reception available to all guests was so lovely. The pool was chilly but great for a quick refreshing dip. Our room was spacious. Water was hot and powerful in the shower and there was also a hidden bath. The bed was huge. Breakfast was vast and delicious. Water was provided in the room.

I couldn’t imagine spending too much time here as Armenteira is very small with not a lot to do. Of the two cafes available for dinner only one was open in the evening. However, perfect stop on the Camino if you can afford it!

Lovely property. Lots of very modern design features. Santiago at the front desk is a ROCK STAR! We came in like drowned rats after 6 hrs in rain and wind on the Camino. He offered to dry our wet clothes.

We reserved a suite - unusual design - for a couple or single person. First handicap design. But not sure why they put hardwood floors on a bathroom (or lobby). But the clear glass wall looking into the ENTIRE bathroom while in the sitting area was disturbing. ADD A CURTAIN PLEASE. Also - at breakfast no fruit of any kind. Not even juice. Besides that breakfast was great

The hotel is a paradise, with a lot of greenery and a pool which really helped the sore muscles after a day of trekking. It’s very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was abundant but not very varied.

There are only 2 restaurants close by, one of which is closed on a Monday. The service is not the best because they cannot cope with the number of pilgrims stopping there. The hotel has a huge potential for a bar or/and restaurant but they only have a vending machine and free flowing water and coffee in the lobby.

Modern architecture with an eye toward tradition and blending into the landscape, the common areas enjoy panoramic views of the countryside. Staff was also wonderful and welcoming. Rooms are spacious, finished with interesting materials and furniture; we enjoyed a small porch with a seating area as well. It is a 5 minute walk from the monastery and the famed Ruta de Pedra y Auga along the Rio Armenteira - which was why we wanted to stay in the area. Finally, the complimentary breakfast truly is one of the best you can find anywhere (and perhaps the only one you will find nearby), which makes the overall cost very reasonable.

We were placed in an accessible room, which is a great feature to have and I am glad that it is available at the pousada. But after days of walking (on the Camino de Santiago) I had been looking forward to taking a hot bath, which was not possible in this room. There actually was a tub beneath the accessible shower floor, but 1. the deck had no visible locking mechanism to ensure that it remained open while I was in the tub and 2. sunk in the floor as it was with the lid raised, it resembled a coffin far more than a welcoming bath.

The room and bathroom was clean. Weather was not good, so we didn’t use the pool area. Breakfast was good. Young man at reception was friendly and helpful. The day we got there we ate lunch and dinner at Bar O Comercio which is close to the Monastery.

The price of the room is 60-70 euros more expensive than it should be. 12 euros for the breakfast is expensive. 8-9 euros is more reasonable.

The room was big, nice comfortable bed and bedding. All towels are so fluffy and big. Very modern building. But the best was buffet breakfast. It was well presented with many choices in a beautiful room. The best!!! The pool area and water was so nice but we didn’t use it. The water was so cold. Overall, it was the best lodging experience during Camino walk.

Nothing.

An easy walk to/from the Camino Portuguese path. The staff were very hospitable and friendly. We loved the chair for outside and the easy access door to the lawn. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. It was great to have a pool.

We did not love the mattresses- felt a little flimsy. There were a few maintenance issues that needed fixing- water damage in the wall behind the shower, shower diverter knob fell off.

What a wonderful place to relax after a long walk on the Camino de Santiago. Beautiful pool to cool off in. Restaurant is right down the street with something for everyone on the menu. The customer service was outstanding. Breakfast in the morning had everything you would want. Excellent value. Right on the Camino trail.

Nothing

We couldn't use the pool - it was raining. The bath was under the shower floor so it would be difficult to get out I felt. The location was very peaceful.

Breakfast was quite limited - a lot of bread ( not great quality) and not enough choice of fruit. With cereals it would be helpful to have oats ( avena) and some seeds, like chia, linseed, pumpkin, sunflower , etc and/or some nuts and figs.

Room was spacious, comfortable & clean and facilities were lovely. Very modern and well-appointed with attention-paid to the finer details. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The view and access to outdoors from our room was great. The photos looked exactly like our room. The breakfast buffet had a wide assortment of yummy choices & was served in a room with a beautiful view. This was our most expensive accommodation on the Camino Portuguese by a long shot but absolutely worth it. You really get what you pay for.
