Parador de Siguenza

Staying in a castle is very special! As with many Paradores it could use some investment in upgrading the rooms and in staff but it was very comfortable and wandering around the castle was great. We had one of the cheaper rooms but it was perfectly fine especially as it was too cold to sit outside if you had invested more to have a balcony. There were good restaurants in easy walking distance so it was not necessary to eat at the Parador restaurant.

The property is showing its age as a 70s hotel and could use some more repairs and upgrading. It would be great to have a kettle in the room as it is a long way to the cafeteria to get a cup of tea. The young woman single handedly managing all the clients of the cafeteria did an excellent job but there should have been more staff. Breakfast selection is very extensive but expensive if you just want a simple breakfast of fruit, toast and coffee.

The comfort of beds and pillows; super white sheets and pillow cases, as in the old times; furniture and decoration at bedrooms and all over the castle; the experience of staying at a place full of history. Staff at room and cleaning department very professional like at a 5 star hotel.

Staff at reception shall be trained to treat customers like important customers and not in a despective way. Experience at reception was not positive. The only negative points go to the check in process. In addition, too slow process with passport registration not considering elder (89 and 81 years) people in need to arrive at bedroom to rest.

Beautiful palace hotel, great rooms, comfortable beds, excellent food, good service, nice staff and history. Easy to walk down into the town and explore the many historical sites.

The parador is located on a hill at the end of the main street. For older visitors who come by train and don't have a car, it is really difficult to climb up that hill, with or without luggage. It would be nice if the hotel ran some kind of shuttle to bring people back. I never saw any taxis in the town, even at the spot marked as a taxi stand on the tourist map. For breakfast, if you don't want to spend 19 euros for a full buffet (excellent food), the cafeteria doesn't open until 11:00am so your choice is basically take the breakfast or walk down to the plaza mayor and walk back. They need to extend the cafeteria hours and have some vending machines on site as well.

It's a restored castle so it is a great start and it is in Siguenza one of my favourite Spanish towns, full of character and charm. Comfortable, clean rooms and good facilities with an amazing restaurant serving good food. Generous choice for breakfast.

I am of slight build so would appreciate a softer mattress, I found this with all the Paradors and most other hotels to be fair - no kettle in room for hot water/drinks.

Beautiful building and surroundings, excellent breakfast. Lovely room after we were relocated. Elena who was in charge of breakfast in the restaurant gave fantastic service.

We were upgraded on arrival to a 4 poster room but there was awful noise from a pressure washer outside doing ongoing work so we had to ask to be moved. at dinner the food was very nice but (this May seem a strange complaint) portions for starters and main courses were massive (the same size) and it seemed very odd, it was a bit overwhelming.

1. Google Maps sends you done deadend streets and the wrong way on one way streets. Signage to arrive not very good. Hotel should make an effort to improve. 2. No help to get bags up/down many steps and cobblestone paths. 3. large double room with one small window made it hard to cool room in evening. 24.5 def C. Hotel should open some inner courtyard windows to cool hallway. I did and someone always closed them.

The place is amazing. Being in a castle, with a wonderful view... Everything , breakfast was very good

Maybe the carpets, and rugs were dirty... They should give you more info about the surroundings, town activities, and restaurants. Advertising museums to promote the beautiful place where the parador is located

Amazing decorations. Large room and bathroom. Good Wifi. Beautiful views and friendly reception staff that can assist you in English. We had an amazing time as hotel and wedding guests at this castle.

The breakfast buffet was less exciting than anticipated for 19€ per person and the castle setting. But still tasty food.

The experience if staying in a Castle is unmatched. Open your window and look into the courtyard and feel like you are transported back in time, if you look at night it almost feels like the carriage will be coming in any second. Walk around the premises and the experience will be complete.

Prices of food could be a little cheaper for hotel guests,.we would have loved to eat there but it was too pricey for us to consider even when paying a good amount to stay the night.

I loved our view from our room of the interior courtyard! It was very charming room and incredible location! I loved the additional sitting areas to relax in around the Castle.

The bathrooms were a little outdated and the mattress was not very comfortable, but the balcony and our view most certainly made up for it!
