This is a wonderful hotel in a great location in the centre of the old town. Our bedroom had a beautiful view out over the square, was very comfortable and clean. We chose to have dinner in the hotel restaurant which was excellent. Breakfast also very good.

The only downside was that it was possible to hear clearly what was happening in other rooms. We could hear people going to the toilet and could clearly follow other people's conversations. We found this lack of soundproofing amusing, though, rather than annoying, but in other circumstances it could be a problem.

The Plaza Grande was our second hotel in Zafra, after one night at the Parador. It was considerably cheaper, and was located on a beautiful square--very historic--super convenient as a base for walking in the old town. We stayed in Zafra 3 days and actually enjoyed it a lot. It shows a side of Spain that is mostly for the locals. I attended church at Santa Maria Candelaria (about 3 minutes from the hotel), bought sweets from nuns (about 8 minutes away), shopped on the big pedestrian street adjacent to the plaza, and had some excellent meals. The hotel is a good value, well-sited for exploring, and has a historic atmosphere.

The staff seemed very insecure about waiting on English speakers. The first day, the waitress at breakfast waited on everyone but us, until she finally just had to come to our table. I apologized for my bad Spanish and was able to communicate well-enough that the second day we didn't have that problem. Same issue with the desk for check-in and check out. Once it dawned on me that I could use Google translate to show her what I needed, the problem was solved. She was very patient & helpful about calling our taxi, and a few other issues, once we figured out how to communicate. The downside to touring "Deep Spain" is that you just can't count on people to know English!

Very charming hotel right in the main plaza. We were biking via de la Plata and they had a secure place to leave our bikes. It was very nice to have breakfast, some hotels in this price range in Spain don't offer breakfast. The room had a nice view to the plaza and it was available as soon as we arrived, before check-in time, which was great for us!

location location! this hotel is right at the plaza grande where the cute restaurants are! we loved being at the center of old town!

nothing! all good - we were lucky to get a free parking spot right on the main plaza next to hotel for free until 10 am (I think- check parking sign!) so we were out just in time / all other parked cars were also gone on time.

Spacious room, central location, comfortable bed, charming romantic feel.

Parking isn't available at the place itself, but at a sister hotel. We were lucky to find a spot nearby in the streets. Staff were stretched between the hotel and the restaurant/bar. Bathroom smelt a little like a campsite bathroom.

we booked the half board package. The food was lovely, but not really a lot of choice - soup or soup to start, grilled meat or grilled meat as mains, tart or tart for pudding! Breakfast also very basic. That said, for convenience and taste, it was good

The location is amazing, the room super comfortable and clean, the staff professional and helpful. For sure I would repeat the experience there!

I would only suggest to improve a bit the breakfast but this is not at all a complain.

Superb location right in the main square, staff were really nice and friendly, we ate in the restaurant, food was really nice, the place was packed at the end of the night..it was clean and tidy, parking was about 400m away in a compound which is this hotels partner, it cost us 10 euro,for 2 motorcycle for one night, I would definitely recommend staying here

Room was comfortable and had good heating. The staff were helpful and the parking, although a little way from the hotel was secure. Food included in half board rate was very good and included good wine. Price for all this 89 euros.

Breakfast was basic but at this price we are not complaining.
