What we liked most: - the feel of a little paradise in the middle of nowhere; - high standards in accomodation: the full teak house with a great veranda was spacious and had excellent airco and an excellent bed - high standards in food and drinks: the buffets of chef Fernando and his brigade are truly excellent; both western and sri lankan food. Very attentive to his guest (as all staff is); specific requests are no problem - high standards in facilities: the gardens are kept nicely, the pool is kept clean, whole range of activities is offered (also for kids) - the staff is very welcoming, friendy and always there to help; they helped us with tours to the Dambulla Cave Temples (10min drive), Sigiriya Rock (15min drive) Minneriya Safari; saw 75+ elephants (40min drive with safari jeep pick-up) and Polonaruwa (90min drive).

Something we didn’t reallly mind but you have to realize that you are quite in the middle of nowhere, fully dependent on the facilities of the park; going to a supermarket is a small trip… The only thing that was a bit annoying, was that the Booking discount on f&b was constantly missed; for a park that is part of the Barceló group, I expect that their systems can handle that; and if not, don’t offer it. But in all this was just a minor nuisance, not affecting the excellent stay

Service; The staff were wonderful, all very pleasant and welcoming. Rajitha and Dilini in the restaurant were lovely and very accommodating. With the current situation in Sri Lanka there were power cuts to reserve energy, the staff called me to inform re the turning off power to ensure I was ready (e.g had hot water). Power was always restored before night fall Room; the rooms was great and had everything I needed. The room was beautifully clean and spelt wonderfully fresh every day. There were a couple of damaged floor boards under the air con, but the hotel are actively renovating rooms duration off season (screens are up so guests are protected from the works which is great) Facilities; the pool is lovely. The spa was brilliant- a lovely massage. There is a pool bar, main bar and pool pizzeria all closed during off season.

The restaurant is brilliant, great value for money, however, you are reliant on the hotel for food - with Dambulla Town 20 minutes away by vehicle with the nearest food places.

Large hotel still using small single use plastic toiletry bottles in bathrooms, and 500ml plastic water bottles in the room and restaurants. This is well behind the sustanable tourism curve. The lunch al a carte menu could have been improved and speeded up a bit. Caesar salad was totally wrong. No-one at Spa the whole time we were there.

Great location not too far from sigiriya very helpful staff food was great hotel was great we stayed in a deluxe room which was huge AC worked great shower/bathroom was big and clean had a good tv with good channels too for on the evening if we wanted to chill, pool was lovely loads of wildlife , peacocks monkeys lizards dogs and cats all roaming about was lovely decent selection of drinks at the bar also, i would definitely recomend this place to others .

Location is beautiful and nature inspired.. very friendly and attentive staff's, good spread of buffet and tasty food. Lovely pool.. totally recommend the place to relax and rejuvenate.. plenty of nearby attractions such as kaludiyapokuna, kandalama lake, cave temple , Popham arboretum. Definitely value for money .

We felt little under staffed during dinner buffet, rooms didn't have rugs... not a big deal but it would've made it perfect.

This resort is in a very scenic setting near the jungle. It has Peacocks roaming the grounds and also have some monkeys around. Atmosphere is very calm and pleasant. Breakfasts and Dinners were fantastci

AC in the rooms were not effective and also made some noise. Also room cleaning was a bit lacking, I had to call House keeping to provide Shampoo and bathgel which was missing

This is my second visit here. The highlight for me was to be greeted by bird sounds in the early morning. We all enjoyed the variety of local fruits that were being offered for breakfast and the choice of different cuisines. The premise was beautifully kept and lovely to have the unexpected peakcock and monkey visitors.

It would've being helpful to have some sort of mosquitoe repellent in the room itself.

Good location. Good variety in breakfast. The staff were helpful. Beautiful environment. Facilities such as a pool and a ground are good. They have organized an 'Avurudu Festival', which we enjoyed as guests.

The tractor sound disturbed the quiet environment. We agreed on three single beds, but they provided one double bed and one single bed. The quality of the food could be improved.

Fantastic hospitality at this place, world renowned buffet, chef is really creative. We had a nice time with walks inside and outside . Closer to Sigiriya 10 minutes drive .Pool and all the amenities easily accessible. Rooms were little bit worn out, other guests were given better rooms, but we enjoyed it, has European sockets . Definitely will try again.

It was an amazing stay and highly recommended! Room was clean and spacious, WiFi was good, food spread was excellent and tasty. Staff was supper friendly too and attended to our needs promptly.
