Sigiriana Resort by Thilanka

I like the pool, the rooms, the staff, the price, the trees and nature life inside the resort. I can run on the grass barefoot. It has no rocks to hurt my feet.

The restaurant is bad. To tell you how bad, I paid for half bord (breakfast and dinner) and I don't eat their. They have no salad let alone leafy greens. Their dessert is cream. Only cream! You letterally eat cream as desert. My room has a coackroach first night but it is expected since I am in the middle of a jungle. Luckily, you can put the AC on 18c and all insects will die. No nearby attraction or mall or anything that you can walk to. You have to rent a personal driver anywas so that wouldn't be a problem.

The gardens and serenity of the property, everything felt intentionally arranged and welcoming. Everything was always clean despite the constant rain. Hardly any mosquitoes or bugs, not even on the balcony. The pool and restaurant area was really nicely set up and the staff were wonderful. Rooms were spacious and clean and felt so homely with small touches.

Too much Christmas carols, on repeat both at reception and by the pool. The menu was too international/Western and would loved to have seen more local short eats or snacks.

Personal on the reception unfortunately forget everything what we asked for 😞 Looks like they don't care at all about what kind of impression will be for guests. When we arrive, hotel personal broke our bag, and reception do nothing (!) to repair it, just laugh for our request. Bed sheets was dirty, because nobody change it after previous guests 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

We had a pleasent stay at this Resort, the pictures and description perfectly shows what the place is: a quiet retreat with a huge garden, large pool and great view over a rice field, which gives you the feeling to be away from the sometimes noisy and busy roads in Sri Lanka. This means the location is also a bit away from Dambulla main area and it's restaurants. But I think you can't have both... Staff is always very friendly and polite. Breakfast buffet is rich and has some Sri Lankan dishes, but more western style. Room was clean and spacious, with everything you need. We would recommend!

I booked this hotel on a whim, on the bus to Dambula about an hour before I arrived, and I'm so glad I did - it did not disappoint! Everything from the welcome drink to the facilities and staff were perfect. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, and the surrounding area and views are stunning. My room was spacious and clean and I had a beautiful view of the garden from my balcony. The infinity pool is lovely - a perfect break from the heat of the day. There's a spa right next to the pool. I had a lovely massage and could hear the birds singing. Great for bird watching in the evening too. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. Reception staff helped me arrange transport to Sigiriya and safari. The restaurant team were really friendly and always welcomed me with a smile. I was shown round their rice fields and explained how they cultivate the rice for the restaurant. The restaurant offers an all you can eat buffet or a la carte menu with both Sri Lankan and Western options. Very reasonable prices. I had such a great time, I booked an extra night. The hotel exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely stay again. Bohōma stūtiyi!

We stayed with friends for a few days in this hotel. Huge hotel grounds with mango trees, large pool with a great view. There is a tennis court, you can rent bikes, gym, massage. We only had breakfasts included, but we went for lunch and dinner as well, convenient that you can write the bill on the room number. The staff is attentive and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if you need something, they will bring it on request. Thank you very much to the hotel staff. Keep up the good work.

The property is exceptional. Was truly highlight of our trip. Amazing vegetation all over the really big territory - rice fields, mango, cashew trees. Clean beautiful pool. Everything very well maintained even the law season. Tennis court was a pleasant bonus! Friendly helpful stuff. The unique charm of some luxury recreation center from the past. As soon as we went further we realize how special was this place. Miss it!

The breakfast and dinner was quite overage, so better do not expect anything special. Though the place and atmosphere are definitely worth that.

The hotel is located in a beautiful private park. I was greeted by an attentive staff. We took the rooms quickly. There was even time for a swim before dinner. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and cozy. The bathroom is large. The bed is comfortable. The dinner consisted of very delicious, mainly local dishes. The breakfast consisted of a good selection of fresh and high quality food. I can only recommend. I will choose this hotel again next time.

Food was exceptional! The staff became like family, nothing was too much and they treated us like royalty! The resort was scenic and relaxing! The whole hotel was clean and very comfortable. You wil walk into smiles and leave with smiles! Location was great, hotel can arrange everything for you and if you want a tuk tuk, a guy outside the hotel called Sunil - look for the red tuk tuk

Everything was exceptional... only thing that frustrated me a little was having a shop within the hotel and the guys asking you to shop a few times a day.

Pool area is big, quiet and with stunning views. The dinning bar area and the rest of the facilities are really pleasant to spend some time, relax and walk around. there were a few power outages, but these only lasted for a few seconds so it didn’t impact at all out stay. Friendly and attentive staff, they even allowed us to do late check out as our pick up was at 2pm.

The food - snacks offer was very limited, whilst the dinner and breakfast buffet had lots of options, the quality wasn’t great. Overall overpriced for what you get. the room was spacious and clean, however a bit out dated - specifically shower curtain, phone doesn’t work, neither does the kettle (small things that could be improved)
