Cosy homestay in the hills of Kandy - the view from the balcony is spectacular and the hosts were extremely warm and welcoming. They kindly arranged dinner for us (at an additional cost) which was very tasty - it was great to try local home-cooked food.

The location is close to Kandy's centre but the steep hills mean it isn't a straightforward walk and TukTuks booked via PickMe/Uber would often cancel once they saw the location of the Homestay. That being said it was easy enough to walk down the hill a little bit and find a tuktuk by the side of the road.

We stayed in a beautiful, spacious room, spotlessly clean. Great bathroom with hot water and very effective fan. We had access to a lovely balcony overlooking the hills. Rasika and Dilini are incredible hosts! they attended to everything with sincerity and warmth. We really appreciated our conversations and their insights. The daily breakfasts were a daily delicious feast! We tried the cooking course with Rasika which was one of the highlights of our month in Sri Lanka! we learned so much, created 10 dishes and have all the recipes to try when we get home. Their dog Ash is also a delight! we hope to come back soon and highly recommend Bethel Rest Homestay!

The owner's very friendly and kind. Good price, and we love the atmosphere up there. Kandy City Center was really crowded, and air quality was so bad, but once you come up to this place, you can feel the clean air and nice breeze.

This place is located up on the mountain. So it's kinda tiring when you walk up. You can't really get a tuktuk right in the city center. Also, wifi didn't work at night for some reason. In the morning, it was all fine though.

I had a really amazing stay - and just wish I had had more nights! It’s a beautiful property, and my room had a balcony with lovely view across the hills towards the city. Rasika was in communication via WhatsApp about my arrival and kindly even offered to help me get a tuk tuk. During my stay Dilini was so welcoming, and gave me recommendations for food/ sites/ where to go for a walk. I can also definitely recommend the location - the views are beautiful, its only a short walk to the city centre, and if you have time you can go on a walk up into the hills too. Would love to come again

The property is located in a beautiful quiet area of Kandy in the trees where you can hear the birds but still close enough to walk town. The family is very nice and makes you feel at home, they help you to plan your day and next steps like how to get a bus or where to get a tuk tuk. They also make a great breakfast and dinner. We walked stage 1 of the Pekoe trail while we were there and this is a good place to stay as you can walk from the home stay to the start of the trail. Highly recommend!

Such warm and welcoming place to stay in a terrific location for Kandy and easy walking distance (downhill) to the train station. Even though we only stayed one night we were made to feel truly welcome and I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was lovely and there is a nice outside patio. Thank you to the lovely hosts who accepted our booking at the last minute and allowed us to use the washing line when all our clothes were wet from hiking.

What a place! The house is absolutely beautiful, up on the hill away from hustle and bustle of Kandy but still walking takes 15 min and tuk tuk maybe 5. Beautiful terrace and a garden, views to die for. But this is all nothing compared to the family that will host you, they are so incredibly kind and warm that it was really hard to leave that place. Delicious meals, talks and truly feeling like a part of a family. Absolutely recommended!

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality by the host family, who made me feel right at home.The room was nice, spacious and clean. What truly made this stay memorable, though, was the kindness of the family. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, providing helpful tips about the local area.

The best room we stayed during our trip in Sri Lanka. Awesome family, welcomed us with great hospitality. Helped arranged tuk tuk to the bus station, explained best way to get to Ella. Our room had an awesome view. It was very spacious, more like an apartment than a room. 100% recommending to those who plan to stay in Kandy.

We only stayed 1 night, wish we could stay longer :(
