The hotel sits on a quiet beach front bay, and the food was exceptional. Staff were very friendly, and the cocktails were amazing. The room size was good

The glass sliding balcony door came off its runners when I opened it. Fortunately, i managed to stop it falling, whilst my friend called the front desk, who sent maintenance to fix it. I could see there was a lot of corrosion on the framework. I was disappointed that no manager came to apologise about the incident. As this could have been an extremely serious accident. Even upon check out, still no mention of the door from the front desk. Poor management skills!

Location is very good, isolated beach only for hotel guests. Food and Services were out of this world, really excellent. Rooms were excellent, very big with ocean view, huge bathroom. Room boy Thusahara gave his best to have all we need in our room. One can walk on the beach and reach in 10 m several surf schools. and is 3km away from Galle Fort, Tuktuks being available in front of hotel. 25mins walk from Jungle beach (excellent secluded beach) or Peace Pagoda, worth to visit for magnificent views

Due a river flowing into ocean just behind the hotel, the water is not that clear as we expected. However, one can swim 200-300 m away from beach without problems.

everything was extremely nice about this hotel. Since the beginning till the end. Personal: extremely friendly and always eager to help. I arrived much earlier before my check in, still I received all the attention from the personnel and the reception. Also, the receptionist was able to find neighbouring rooms for me and my friend, with whom we were having vacation. Breakfasts are very nicely and personally served. This is not a buffet, but a la carte. There is a nice choice of traditional local breakfast, english breakfast and a healthy breakfast with my beloved porridge. When we had an early tour the breakfast was carefully packed, so that we could have it on the way. The restaurant serves the best fish, the best lobster and the best crabs on the coast. We tried to eat out several times but were disappointed. So my honest advice to eat at the hotel. The products are super fresh and cooked perfectly well. Service, ambiente, prices, musik are not to be found anywhere else near the hotel. Room Service was done also greatly and whenever we had any question, every member of the stuff tried to help out and all was done in no time. The manager himself is always on the site and is making his best service by contacting each guest personally. Beds are very comfortable and big, there is a pillow menu and actually enough pillows even for the most demanding guests. There are both conditioner and ventilator, which is very useful in such climate. Room (room, balcony and bathroom) are very spacious and light. Upon the whole I was very happy to stay their and would definitely recommend this hotel.

the water on the beach was not so clean, may be because of the location. But if you take a tuk tuk and drive to jungle beach around 5-10 min, this will be an unforgettable experience. The positive side is that the beach is isolated from other tourists and one can enjoy a marvelous view while breakfast or dinner

Everything except for the few negative aspects I described but those are not so important. The room was big enough and the bathroom was oversized. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The beach is beautiful and not crowded as Unawatuna Beach. I liked the location, you can find a bus stand, and tuk-tuks are very easy.

The room and the whole property should be refurbished. It is not very important but the furniture is old everywhere. The dinner was expensive and not so many options for us. We went outside. They do not freeze the drinks therefore we don't suggest drinking cocktails there - a dry martini with icecubes is not an option for me :).

We had a pool room and it didn’t disappoint. The pool was bigger than expected with gorgeous views - worth the extra money. The whole room was nicely finished and really comfortable, with lots of space. Location is good - It’s around 800 LKR to get into Unawatuna (about 5 minutes max) and 1000 LKR to get into Galle (15 minutes max). The staff were so lovely too, really made the trip enjoyable - for $25 you can also get an hour long full body massage in your room, a really nice touch.

Breakfast is a set menu which was a little disappointing so I’d maybe book without and head into Unawatuna as there are so many options there.

Every day they cleaned the rooms that were really clean. The soap they provide is a brilliant thing, super expensive if you want to buy it but was really good. You can choose from a variety of pillows, so they make sure you find the most comfortable one for yourself. They also cleaned our plunge pool too, every morning by the time we woke up, so it was charming to get into it. Breakfast was good, but super expensive if you buy it on the spot. We left the hotel just after midnight as our plane left super early, they prepared for us a doggy bag breakfast. (it was funny to eat boiled egg on the airport from a cake box :) )

It wants to look fancier than it is. It really would like to be a 4-star hotel but somehow it is missing sometimes professionalism, sometimes though it is fully professional it was a mixed feeling. It bothered us that sometimes you could feel a sewage smell. The bathtub (jacuzzi) was super old, looked not charming, and didn't use it. Food was super expensive in the hotel, this was the first place on the island where we were faced with all sorts of tax on top of the price written (government tax and service fee together 33%!!!). Since there is a river flowing into the ocean near the hotel the water is not charming green on its beach, again not the hotel's fault.

lovely welcome from the staff, we were upgraded room to a pool room which was lovely. The beach was clean and there were lots of sun beds and pool attendant to get towels etc. There were tables out to eat next to the beach with both sun and shade. The bed and shower were both very good. The room is very spacious with a small wardrobe. Fridge, tea and coffee in room with a reasonable priced mini bar. It’s a tuk tuk ride to both Galle and Unawatuna resort, but it’s a peaceful haven to relax and unwind in. (£2-3 each journey) We ate several times in the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced for a hotel.

The property does need some upgrading, but after Covid and the political crisis they have suffered with lack of income. The staff were working on repairs while we were there which looked very positive for the future. We would still recommend and go back

The staff were amazing! We only got BB but we ended up having all three meals at the resort as the food was really good! The pool and beach access was so great. The staff were very accommodating and efficient. Always willing to assist whenever possible.

The hotel needs some maintenance. It appears Covid shut down really effected the upkeep and maintenance. Our AC in the room was leaking, but working fine. The bathroom shower was messy as water went everywhere. But the hotel provided us with extra towels to keep the area dry.

Rain shower was great. It’s located right on the beach which is lovely. Food was very nice (I had half board). Staff were friendly and excellent in hospitality and ensuring all was well with my stay.

Reception staff asked me to verify my credit card details for some random bogus charge when everything had already been paid in full. It was very suspect and I didn’t appreciate this.

The staff was really friendly. We got the half board and the food was very good, a five-course dinner meal I would say it is 100% value for money. The room was massive and the view was good. I do not have a bad thing to say about the property or the people working there. Great value for money and a very memorable experience. Note: Galle is very far from lots of the typical activities in Sri Lanka, I would recommend doing a longer visit traveling around the country and finishing off in Galle/ Unawatuna.

Small things that I didn't like. No ATM at the hotel (there is one about 2 min walk away). Bring Rupies with you. I had dollars and the hotel was happy to exchange them for rupees. There is a money exchange near the fort but it's about a 30 min wait. Food portions were too big, felt like I was wasting a lot of the food (food off the menu not the half board).
