Breakfast was very good (rich assortment). Some ginger juice and it would have been perfect. The building is old and the ceilings very high (4m). Wooden floors. Windows looked new but they were leaking cold air like crazy. Had to tape them up to get the temperature normalized in the room. The spa was basically 2 small pools of 38.5 degrees water, some cozy rooms and two small saunas. The small gym was clean and airy. However, no heavy weights or machines. Just light dumbbells up to 20 kg, some benches, 2 bikes and 2 treadmills. Plenty of parking places around the hotel.

TV in the room was the smallest I ever saw and not much use. It couldn't handle casting either so it was impossible to view anything interesting. The IR sauna was dysfunctional so there is basically one useful 4-person sauna. Not sufficient for a spa hotell. It was not possible to book the type of beds (double or 2x single) in the room until check-in so it's hit and miss if the type you want is available. Very strange indeed.

This establishment is a very convenient location, a few minutes walk from the Central Station in Halmstad. The breakfast is very elaborate and sumptuous. The staff is cooperative and friendly. The lounges are extremely comfortable, homely and with a very friendly and welcoming vibe to it. There is always a coffee pot on the boil with ginger cookies at hand. No charges. I will always like to come back to the Continental.

The bathroom particularly the shower facilities were not quite up to the standard suggested by the rest of the hotel. The room was clearly in need of a good dusting job since the window sills and the plant leaves had films of dust.

I have stayed in Halmstad several times and I am convinced this is the nicest Hotel in town. It has a traditional design with very comfortable beds and soft sheets. The staff are fantastic and make the experience very welcoming. However, the best part is the breakfast in the morning, a delicious selection of meats, fresh fruits, yogurts, breads, coffee and tea.

Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of food. Only fresh orange juice and waffles were missing. Very serviceminded staff were also appreciated.

List over facitilities on the hotel would be preferable. Also the beds were 2 single beds put together. It would have been good to have one big madras instead.

The room was comfortable, the style of the hotel is old school/classic. The included breakfast was really good. There was complementary tea/coffee and fika in the lounge which was a nice touch. The guys working on the reception were really friendly and helpful. The spa and outdoor hot tub were very luxurious.

It was 398SEK to access the spa for the duration of your stay - I decided that was worth it for me, but it would be better value if you had a longer stay.

Very old charming building and an excellent reception from Alex. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom large and good quality. Breakfast had everything you can wish for. Also, very quiet rooms and good lightning. Free parking close by.

The shower in the bathroom could not be closed. I was in swamp country after three minutes of showering and used the added towels to clean the floor.

The hotel is halfway between the train station and the town square; I only stayed for one night so the location was really handy. The breakfast was exceptional with a lot of choice and quality food. Unfortunately that morning was cold so I didn't have breakfast in the hotel courtyard but there's plenty of room inside, too.

I wouldn't count this as a complaint but I suppose the bathroom was kind of small compared to the room. I was told I'd gotten a room upgrade upon checking in so I probably expected something more spacious. It wasn't tiny though, there's room enough for one person!

The atmosphere of an old and beautiful hotel. You enjoy your stay and you can really rest in a beautiful classic bedroom. Easy to find, 300 m from the train station and the center, and in a beautiful and calm quarter.

The bathroom is maybe the weak point. They built it inside the old room and it is quite small and noisy. Nothing is free, but it is quite a pity that there was no free water bottle...
