The pickup from the airport was waiting when we arrived. The hotel is on Nyerere Road which is subject to extensive road works atm, however this did not impact. Check in was straightforward, receptionist efficient and very pleasant. The foyer is decorated in a fairly elaborate manner, but it isn’t unpleasant, just not suited to my taste. Our room was enormous, big comfortable bed, 3 piece suite, dining table and chairs, desk. Acres of space, and quite tastefully decorated. The bathroom was also spacious with a large shower enclosure and plentiful hot water. A/c and ceiling fans made controlling the temperature easy. The soundproofing was excellent - necessary given the proximity to the airport and the main road. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant on both days, breakfast was a bit of an adventure - it felt a bit like eating a leftover Indian takeaway with barbecue chicken, fish, cooked bananas, but tasty. Eggs were cooked to order, Spanish omelette was nice. Breads, toast, fruit, coffee - certainly not the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Dinner was good, my husband had fish twice, I had chicken and prawns. Well flavoured dishes, but I’m not sure they necessarily matched what was on the menu. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. Savannah ran out on the second day and wine was not great. There’s a small supermarket just along from the hotel where you could stock up on snacks and drinks if you like. You can also buy a shiny red tractor or a brand new tuc-tuc if that appeals! Given that airport shuttle both ways and breakfast was included in the price it was great value for money.

Cable TV was a bit hit and miss.

I have stayed here multiple times as a traveler in Tanzania who tends to require a layover for international travel. I appreciate the free shuttle and the the fact that a packed breakfast was provided for my early morning flight. The front desk and dining staff were very attentive and responded to my inquiries.

The facility is aging, as are the amenities, so not a luxurious stay, but works for a weary traveler. Also, there's not much within walking distance during your stay, but there is a well stocked convenient store within the storefront complex.

This is a great location for the airport and the staff is very good about understanding the late airport hours at DAR. In general, their English is very good. The breakfast buffet is more substantial than many, especially if you desire vegetarian Indian and want something besides carbs. As is typical in this part of the world, do not be surprised/disappointed by the lack of pork products, especially bacon and pork sausage.

Some menu items in the restaurant seem to be seasonal, but are not marked that way. The manager went out of his way to acquire aubergine after finding out that I had been asking for it, only to have the waiter insist that they did NOT have any on the day it was promised. The manager confirmed later that they had some in stock that day.

Close proximity to the airport (approximately ten minutes drive by free airport shuttle). Easy check-in by friendly & helpful staff. Perfect location for an overnight stay when onward flight the next day. Restaurant reasonably priced, great food. Bar next door to sit down & enjoy a drink or two. Used this place before for overnight stays & would definitely use again & recommend.

Very close to the airport. Huge room with good air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Walk in shower. Complimentary water. Nice breakfast. We went for 2 days safari and the hotel agreed to store our luggage. Very good Indian European restaurant on premises.

No coffee except instant one but it looks like the problem of Tanzania. Ceiling fans - switched them on by mistake and could not switched the off :-)

The hotel is very close to the international airport, so it was a good place to rest before an early morning flight. The restaurant had very good lunch and dinner food, we had to leave too early to experience breakfast. The rooms were a good size, clean, laid out well, and included refrigerator and safe. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the transfers to and from the airport went smoothly.

The shuttle picked me up right on time at the airport with a quick trip back to the hotel. The Staff were friendly and prepared for me on arrival. The room was clean and welcoming, bed was comfortable , the room was quiet despite being close to the road. The restaurant had a nice variety of food and drinks. I would definitely highly recommend the Blue Sapphire for anyone coming and going from the Dar Airport

We just spent the night at this hotel before catching our flight out of Dar Es Salaam after our safari trip. The airport pick up and drop off was very convenient. The attached restaurant had good Indian food. The rooms were very comfortable and luxurious. They dropped us at airport for a early morning flight and we got a good night's sleep.

Close to airport and free shuttle provided. Room was very spacious. Bed huge and very comfortable. Clean and air conditioned. Good WiFi. The perfect place to stay overnight for a connecting flight the following day.

I told the shuttle I needed to go to the domestic terminal but he dropped me at international. I had to pay for a taxi to then get me to the domestic when I realised I was at the wrong place..

Breakfast had variety. The only hotel that I have seen with a free airport shuttle and free room service. A major plus to clients. Very friendly staff. Rehema stood out always willing to help
